What a fun time down in Utah for Thanksgiving. It was a short and sweet trip but packed with love and fun. I always love it so much.
Here we all are hanging out after some good food. I love the Nakayas.
We then did baptisms in the bountiful temple. It didn’t feel as good as doing them in the Boise temple. It was crowded and business like. But it’s good to try it in different temples. If nothing than to appreciate your own.
It was a beautiful morning as well.
We then hit the outlets in Park City and found some really sweet deals. Some got shoes. And some got snowboarding boots. Some got chamois and some got jackets. It was a very successful shop.
Takeshi always giving me the snuggles.
The cuzzies playing games together. They’re pretty good mates.
Then we came home and someone had blown up our mailbox 😂 It was crazy. We couldn’t believe it. We were so shocked. I’m not sure if it was random or if someone hates us. But we got it replaced with a cheap one. So we’ll see how long that lasts.
So that was exciting 👀

Yukis hospital stay
So yuki got a lymph node that had swollen. She’d had a cold two weeks before that but was over it. She’d got whacked in the face/neck at a bball game and it swelled up after that.
Most people who say they’ve had a lymph node sweep say there’s nothing you can do and so you just take some pain meds and it’ll pass.
Well this didn’t pass. It was crazy. We saw our doctor so many times and each time he did some tests and sent her to the hospital to check it out. They didn’t find anything and so he put her on some meds.
It didn’t help so he came her a shot of meds and that helped for a second then it came back. So he sent her to have them check it out again and again they said nothing.
He then basically said that she needs to go to the ER so they can have all the specialists in one area and get the tests back quick and figure out what’s really going on as no one really had any solid answers for her at all.
She got lots of visitors who love her and help take care of her. I had a talk on the Sunday with Josh as he was leaving on his mission. So Cali stayed with her while I did my talk.
Emery was a staple visitor and helped her feel good.
She missed him one night and was praying to Heavenly Father to not feel alone and show her a sign she wasn’t alone. I had gone to sleep with my earplugs in and then was woken up suddenly and heard her crying. I cuddled her till she went to sleep.
They did a bunch of tests on her and even brought in the infectious disease people. But they couldn’t quick grip what was going on.
Friends helped with the other kids which was really nice. Here’s Emiko with Claire. Natalie was looking after her. I had plenty of other friends help out as well with dinners and support. We have good people around us.
Poor yuki was poked and prodded a lot and was just sore and sad at the beginning.
They wanted to take biopsies to try to figure out what’s was wrong with her. It was pretty horrible. She asked me to have Dru come cause she wanted him to. so he left work to come be with her. She just needed her dad. I think she was pretty deflated. And getting those biopsies hurt really bad. I felt horrible for her.
They got her all needled up for drugs.
Looking fancy.
Dr Davis gave her this strong shot of antibiotics to see if it’s help. They gave it right in her butt. It helped for a day then came right back.
Her just not feeling good.
In the end all the meds started working and it went down and did hurt anywhere near as much. When they took the biopsies they removed a bunch of gunk out of the lymph node and they think that helped get to the infection they figured was in there. They think that all the gunk was blocking the meds from attacking the infection and so it just got worse. But once drained, the meds could attack it and simply get rid of it. But they only told us this on the way out of the hospital. Really no one had a conclusive answer for us before then. The hospital treated her really well. Much better than how they treat Dru. I guess it pays to be a kid cause you get treated way better. I’m just glad she’s ok and it’s over.
Meanwhile Takeshi was sick with a horrible cough as well that made him throw up and feel like he couldn’t breathe. They couldn’t find a solution to that one either. Emiko got the same cough while we were in NZ as well. We just basically gave them musinex and it eventually went away. It was really odd as their lungs were clear and there was no infection. So it was this horrible cough that didn’t really show up as anything. Weird right? Not a good winter for the Nakayas. Looks like my witch brews weren’t doing the trick. I’m grateful for modern medicine and insurance to cover things.
Emikos bball team
Emiko is having a great time with her bball team this season. She got on the B team and is doing well. I like her coach. He’s good with the girls.
Her with Hannah.
Her team.
She’s having a good season with the B team and feels comfortable with everyone obviously. It’s been great watching her play and have fun.
