23

Dru and I also celebrated 23 years together.

Yuki made pavlova. I told her she was doing it wrong but she didn’t believe me. When it didn’t work out as good she believed me.

We are a bit off it but ended up throwing it out. Pavlova takes a few times before you can perfect it. She’s got this.

I can’t believe it’s been 23 years actually. That seems like a long time to me.

It’s been awesome though and I love Dru so much.

Then our cat, Goban, basically left us while we were in Canada. We thought he’d died. He’d been missing for around 25 days. Then on Takeshis birthday and our wedding anniversary who should come waltzing back like nothing was amiss? Goban. Can you even believe that!!!!!
It was the best gift ever. I also got these beautiful flowers.
We’re so happy Goban came back and takeshi turned 15 and we can celebrate 23 years of marriage. We’re very lucky.

As the years go by I’m more and more grateful for Dru and our friendship. I’m glad we’re growing old together and understanding each other as we get closer to Christ while doing it. I find the more we try to be lie Him the better our marriage becomes. I’m grateful we’re on the same page about things and I appreciate him and us.

Takeshi turns 15

So Takeshi turned 15 this year and celebrated with his buddies. Dru was in the hospital and so his good friend Samantha and her family took Takeshi and his posse out on the boat. It was super nice of them and made Takeshi happy.
Here him and his friends are goofing off.
He has quite a collection of friends. Takeshi hangs out with people who make him feel good. I love it.

He doesn’t care if he’s popular or not. He knows his worth and it’s pretty amazing.

Celebrating Takeshi is easy. I love who he is. He’sa pain in there but and is totally beautiful all wrapped up on one package.
Here we are singing to him. He’sa little bit of a control freak like his father. He’s moody like his mother. He’s constantly making us all laugh all the time. He does great accents except he doesn’t do a Kiwi accent. His Asian accent is fire ands his wit is so quick I can’t even handle it. He’s so smart and loves being outside on his bike, the tramp out his snowboard. He’s my only kid who likes video games as well. I’m glad we don’t have them at our house.
Here’s his mtb team celebrating him. He’s pretty easy to love.
Here’s Samantha. She made him his cake. It was amazing. She’s amazing.

When we asked him what he wanted for his birthday he said nothing and meant it. He doesn’t like us spending money on him. It’s pretty awesome. He’s selfless and kind. You can’t mess with his food however. That’s when the bad mood comes out. He has to choose to share his food with you. If you just take it………. Nuclear warfare.

We ended up getting him some chamois’s for mtbing. He needed them.

Hopefully 15 will be ok. We love him and are glad the day was great.

Takeshi got a girlfriend

Takeshi met Morgan through yuki. Morgan was on Yukis bball team over the summer. Yuki thought that she’d introduce them and they got along.
They’re pretty cute together and go on great dates together. They’re not super serious and I e been impressed with their dating. Hopefully it’ll go well.

She has lots of friends and Rakeshi and her aren’t demanding on each other.

They made it official July 29th I think? So far, so good.

Mtbing and friends

Millie and Emiko out biking and having fun. I’m so glad she has great friends who like to do things with her.
Yuki took beautiful pictures of her rose with her new friend.
His name is Emery and she really likes him. They talk and get along really well. He seems like a good kid.

They decided to go on a mtb ride together and text and talk.

Flashback to Takeshi and his cousin when they were little and cute.
I tried to feed yuki and make sure she eats and I find the food in the trash. She got a talking to.
We went and mtb’d stackrock and the kids did really great. Here we are at a great stopping point.

Cute kids.

Emiko has made lots of great friends.

Takeshi with his group.
Mtbing

Yuki did a race up at bogus and she didn’t enjoy it. But I think she did great.

Dru in hospital again

We went to the Meridian Temple cause the Boise one was closed. It is huge. But we had a good time.
We were at practice for mtbing doing time trials. Dru decided to take some of the kids who had finished on a cooldown ride. All the coaches had radios.

While Dru was riding downhill his radio unclipped from his shirt and went dangling close to his tire and spokes. He bent down to quickly grab it and slid sideways and crashed.

He hurt but thought he was fine for a few days. Then on the Saturday afternoon he couldn’t breath properly. So we went to the ER.

Turns out he had a collapsed lung that had filled with blood. So they needed to drain it and make sure it was ok.

So they shoved this tube in his lung and started draining it. He said it was the most pain he’s ever been in equaled with one other time in his childhood. I felt super bad for him.

He ended up staying in hospital until that next Tuesday to make sure he was ok.

We received lots of help and love from many people and Dru was able to recover thanks to great care.

Here’s Takeshi taking care of him.

He was just so tired. But he healed well.
Here he is coming home to rest and recover at home.
In other news we made the season teams and decided to name them NZ and Aussie indigenous animal names. It was really awesome.
I’m glad Dru was ok. He scares me.

Trip to Utah to see old friends

So my buddy Ryan Harris was coming to Utah to visit friends. I decided to come down to spend some time with him. I stayed at Drus parents place and went mtbing that morning. It was awesome. So I took some pictures.

Then I met Ryan downtown.

We had breakfast and then went to visit his one friend from his mission for lunch. He was a really nice guy. It was good to meet him.

We then went to our other friend Tom and visited with him the rest of the day. He’s a teacher so we went to his school and looked around. Then we picked up his kids and went to the batting cage and watched his boys hit with their friend. Very interesting.

We all caught up and had a really good time.

We went out to dinner and hung with his kids. It was pretty amazing. I’m really glad I went down for a quick trip. I love these guys and am glad I served a mission.
