Enough is enough already

Another tooth lost tonight. I mean come on man, enough's enough right?
I dunno how many he's got left. Surely only one or two more right?
There it is in all its glory.

Here's some other random pictures from my phone.
These guys are the best of friends. Running around pretending they're super heroes. It's pretty cute man.
I'm glad Nat and I both carry enough capes to meet their demands.
Emiko loves Bryan. I'm glad they have each other.
They're like an old married couple sometimes. It's pretty funny.
Nat told me she just got this beautiful doll house and wanted to see Emis reaction. Emi goes in, says "That's a nice toilet" and then carries on playing super heroes with Bryan.
My girls aren't the girls to test girlie things out on. Was that enough 'girls' in one sentence for you?
Love my girls.
The derby was Tuesday and we totally forgot about it. So Masaru raced his old car and Dru promised to make him whatever car he wanted this Saturday.
We felt bad cause Dru's work had a function that we planned on going to, so had to do a balancing act to get it to all work out.
We watched one heat then left.
Masaru caught a ride home with mates and we picked up the new babysitter my kids love now (they loved our last one) and Dru and I took off for the night. I dressed up, which is sometimes nice, and  met the rest of his work mates. It was great and I'm glad it all worked out. No pics. Stupid.
Then I finally spent a little of my Christmas $$ on these bad boys. They're my new mt biking shoes. I can't even tell you how pumped I am. With the rest of the $$ I'll get new pedals. Yeyaaahhhh way excited.
We went biking Saturday together (me and hubby) and I basically took my bike for a walk. It was so muddy. I hope it dries up soon. It was so nice to be out there  though and we still got a great workout.
Ahhhhhh love the foothills. Love boise. Love my bike.
The end

Another tooth

I gotta record all this stuff man so my kids know when they lost their teeth.  I'll never remember this kinda stuff so that's why I take a picture of their tooth and then write it up here.  Then I purge it from memory and tell them to look up the blog.
This is the forth tooth Masaru's lost in about a month.  I guess 1st grade and 4th grade are the years for losing teeth.
I asked him if he has anymore to lose.  He said he still did and pointed them all out to me.  I can't even believe it.
At least he's giving these other teeth some room I guess.  Still though they're gonna be crowded.  Poor kid, poor teeth.

Stuff

So here's the latest thing Masaru's made among some other stuff he's still working on.
Dru just made them a lego table on the weekend.  I'll get a picture up here, but it's not finished yet, so once it's finished I'll blog about it's glory.
He kept asking me what wolverine looked like.
M: Mum does he have brown eyes?  How long are his side burns? Is his outfit yellow?
I was answering all his questions and figure it was a little weird but was too busy to think more.
Then he came out with this to show us.  You can tell but the detail on it is quite awesome.  Plus the movement he used for the arms and legs is something else.
I love that he's the lego master builder.  Takeshi's getting into it as well as the girls.  They'll come out and show me things too.
I need to get a picture of what Yuki made the other day.  She brought it out and Masaru said "Oh Yuki I've been thinking about what you've been building and wanted to give you an idea of how to make it better with some of the stuff in my room"
Then they trotted off together to work on their legos'.
Pretty awesome.
The kids did some Martin Luther King studies at school, of course.
Here's Takeshi's.  Pretty cute how he's figuring out sentences.

We had family home evening on Monday night and the lesson was about Understanding diversity.
It was one of the best lessons we've had.
The older two kids really got into it.  I'm glad we did it.  We used the example of different eggs on the outside but when you crack them open they're the same, just like people.
We watched a video about it and then talked about how we can be more tolerant of people who are different to us and believe different to us.
We talked about appropriate language used for different cultures.
Because our children are so colour blind though they couldn't understand why people would hate simply because of a difference in colour and culture.  I'm glad this is so, but it's always important to discuss the heroic courage of those past us so we can respect what they have given us.

We read two books on Martin Luther King and then talked about our own family and the things that happened to their Japanese grandparents in the camps and to their grandfather growing up as a Japanese child in a culture that didn't always like that culture.  They couldn't believe it.
I mean we all are fully aware that the Japanese culture hasn't exactly been super nice their whole existence, but still, people deserve respect and to not be punished for ancestral mistakes.
We then talked about the Jews and the holocaust and what happened there.
By the end of the lesson we were all in tears sharing about how we were always going to love others as Jesus loves all.
I don't think we have to put up with evil, but we need to figure out a way to love our enemies, like Martin Luther preached.  Tough cause, great man.

My teeth are still tender but I'm doing great considering.  I can't believe how mental I was with basically no drugs.  Trauma and shock mate, that's what I'm thinking.  Thank goodness that's over.

I need to mountain bike.  Come on weather, work with me.

The wisdom teeth story

So I was very nervous, just like I told you all and had a bit of anxiety going into this.
I had a visit with my mate the other day and told her the saga of my last wisdom teeth coming out and she asked if she could drive me home.  I told her I'd keep her on my text list to get in contact with if I needed it.
Dru was going to come home and watch the kids while I went, which was great, so I didn't have to find a babysitter.  I'm glad his work is flexible like that.
But my mate kept in contact with me and we were texting back and forth and she and her daughter offered her babysitting services so I could have Dru with me.  At first I denied cause I felt bad, but truth be told it was the best thing anyone could've offered me.
I'm in debt to these two.
Dru coming with me was everything.  I'm like a little weird I guess, I dunno, but when I'm in a high stress situation like that, eg childbirth, Dru has a calming affect on me that no one else has or can have, it's just the way I'm made up.  So having him there was a huge relief to me.
I'll just make 1.2 million cookies for these ladies and it'll be all good.
Her daughter came over and then Dru came home and we left.
Quinn's such a nice man and that helped a little.  There's not much room in the work station and so Dru sat in the corner and started reading a car magazine hahahaha That's what he does at the OBGYN's office as well.
They numbed up my teeth with this ointment and then went in there with the needles.
I watched a food network show and listened to some music in my ears while it was all going on.  I warned Quinn that I've shoved a dentists hand out of my mouth, one time, when he was putting a needle in my mouth, so he needs to watch out.  He thought I was joking, then looked at Dru and realized I wasn't, so was on guard.  I think that was in NZ with my wisdom tooth!!
He then tested to see if I could feel anything, which I could feel a little, then numbed them up more and started.
The first one was super quick, I couldn't even believe it.  He had the tools in there and popped that sucka right out in about a minute.  You would've thought I would've been elated, which I was, but it didn't take away all of my anxiety for some reason.
So in between teeth I started crying.
I know man I know, crazy right?  I'm not sure what was going on, but I had this wave of emotion come over me and I couldn't help it.  I dunno how else to explain it I guess, but I just started crying.  Dru came over and awkwardly held my hand in between the machines, for the 2nd tooth while I tried to 'get it together'.
I held on tight and didn't let go.  Later on I asked him how painful that was standing in some weird position to hold my hand for 10 mins.  He said it wasn't a big deal and knew it was helping me so would stand for as long as it took.  He said seeing me cry was sad and so just wanted to help. Said like any awesome husband.
Then Quinn took out the second tooth almost as easily as the first and it was over.
It went WAY better than I had ever imagined and was so good considering but I was a mess man, like emotionally.  I think my brain wasn't all there, cause even though I'd only had a minimal amount of drugs in me I did a few things which were crazy.
#1 I hugged Quinn.  Now if you know me, you know this isn't weird, but I think I might've held onto him a little long in the hug.  I'm not sure, Dru didn't see it as a big deal, but I think it might've been a little awkward, I dunno.  I then hugged Dru for a while to calm myself down after all was said and done.  I just wanted to say thanks to Quinn for being so awesome but I went super quiet during the event and couldn't really say much.  I dunno why.  Honestly man it was a crazy experience, I wasn't myself.
So I couldn't look at him and tell him how grateful I was, or so I thought, and so just hugged him and hoped he'd 'get it'
We're making sushi with him and his sister in law in Sunday so I guess I'll find out then if it was awkward.  I'm sure he's got a few stories of crazy things that have happened to him over the last couple of years.

Here's my teeth.
Gross right?
Here's a horrible angle of the holes in the back of my mouth and that lovely silver filling right there hahahaha
Thank goodness I had nothing up my nose.  I considered cropping this picture, but here on kiwi and an eagle, we like to keep it real people.

#2 I said something inappropriate to Dru's mate who was over fixing my computer.  In my head I meant to say something but when it came out it came out different and I felt bad.  I didn't feel bad about it though until later on that night and then started texting him asking for forgiveness.  Well to him AND to his wife.  Awkward.

#3 I drove myself to get some Tylenol drugs, which looking back probably wasn't a good idea.  I got a text from a mate who was saying he was driving RIGHT beside me for a full minute and couldn't get my attention and what was going on.  I told him I had just got my wisdom teeth out and he forgave me but was wondering why I was driving, to which I had no answer.

#4 When I got home I took a Tylenol, OR SO I THOUGHT.  Then when we were in bed and I was due for some more I went out to find it and couldn't see it anywhere.  I said to Dru "It was right here on the kitchen bench but all I can find is this cough mucus medicine. I've got no idea where my Tylenol went"
Dru goes out to the kitchen, looks in my purse and finds the Tylenol still there, NOT EVEN OPENED.
The pill I took was a mucus cough pill hahahahahaha
Listen man I could've SWORN to you that I took that Tylenol and that it wasn't that cough pill.  I have a memory, which apparently doesn't exisit, of me taking the Tylenol and seeing that other medication sitting there and me thinking 'Man these bottles look the same'
CRAZY RIGHT?  I would've put all my money down in me taking that Tylenol and all evidence points to I TOTALLY DIDN'T.  I can't even believe that.

How could I be that mental and only have Novocaine and light drugs in me?  The anxiety?  I've never been affected by drugs before, I didn't think.  But looking back actually I did have a weird experience in my body with the last wisdom teeth.  Maybe I'm mental on Novocaine?  Who knows.  Maybe I have a deep fear of having my teeth worked on that makes my body and brain go into shock mode?  Who knows.

When I got home my mate, Mari was there to pick her daughter up and give me a hug and some food.  I mean how awesome is this girl?  Thanks Mari, you're the best.  You'll never know man, but your help yesterday was everything to me.
Then my other mate Nat came over with some dinner, while I was out on the road ignoring people, which we ate that night.  Soup and bread man.  So yummy.  Love you Nat.
Then my other mate Sarah dropped off some KFC mashed potatoes and a milkshake.  I mean those mashed potatoes were perfect and so yummy.  I forget about KFC and how much I like it there.

I have much to be grateful for right?  Awesome friends, good hubby, great dentist, caring family who prayed for me, send me messages and texted/emailed me to see how it all went.  I was very overwhelmed and am very grateful.

I woke up this morning to the taste of blood in my mouth, but Dru looked and said it all looks great and he couldn't see any blood.  I think I'm going to be fine if I keep taking ibprophen for the swelling right?

I'm glad it's over.  My hearts racing writing this post.  I must have some serious problem like mentally with the dentist wisdom teeth thing.  Anyway they're all out and gone and if I look after these teeth I have I'll never have to get another tooth pulled or worked on again right?  Hahahaahhaha

Weight

So recently I had a brief conversation with a VERY GOOD mate who LOVES me and so there was ZERO offense meant and they'd be sad if they knew I felt like this............
So with that said it went something like this:

After talking a little while about our goals etc

Mate: Well I think you look great.
Me: Thanks
Mate: I think you looked too skinny before but now you look perfect.
Me: o_0

Hahahahahahaha
I had no idea I had put on weight!!
So now I'm looking at myself and trying to figure out if I've put on weight or not.  With not having a scale in the house I can't weigh to find out, and I'm wearing all the same clothes I've always worn and they don't feel tight, but maybe they had some room for me to grow and I'm not recognizing it?

Truth be told I deserve to have put on some weight as I've been pretty bad the last 3 months and wouldn't be surprized at all.
So I think tomorrow I'm going to face facts and jump on the scale at my gym before I hit bootcamp and  see what the verdict is.  I might as well make tomorrow a horrible day considering I'm getting my wisdom teeth out anyway.  It'll be the first time I would've weighed myself in about 4 months or maybe even 5 or 6.  I can't remember.
Maybe after this I'll have to reassess and make some new goals, but apparently there's a point where  I look too skinny? Hahahaha
I'm going to get to the bottom of this and figure out what I need to do I guess.  Maybe since I'm not mountain biking I've put on weight?  Or my body's changed?  Who knows, but I'm sure the scales are going to give me a little indication about what's going on.
I asked Dru if he'd thought I had put on weight and he laughed.
I'm not sure what that means?
Like 'Don't be silly you look great?'
Or 'If I just laugh then I won't have to answer either way and stay outta trouble?'
hahahaha
It's a loaded question I know and the only answer I guess he can give me is 'No' and be safe?  But I'd like to think I'm ok with honesty, especially since I actually don't know.
It's been really nice not worrying about my body these last 6 months and enjoying my fitness and how I look.  I guess I just havn't worried about it until it was brought to my attention a little while ago.
Truth is I HATE losing weight.  It's hard, you have to eat very well and not have treats much at all and I don't get into that man.  So I guess if I have put on a bit I need to work out if I care and if I'm going to do something about it and then move forward with my knowledge.
I'll let you know, cause I know you all really care right?  Cause my concerns are your concerns hahahaha
That's it for now.

Teeth

So 'tis the season, around here, for our dentist check ups.  We usually will do them at the beginning of the year and in the summer some time.  That's what our insurance tells us, and so that's what we do.
We get free check ups and then if we need work done, then we go from there.  Masaru and Yuki both have teeth coming out left, right and center.
We've all had our check ups, except Dru who's sick.  His teeth are bad so I really hope his check up goes well.
The rest of us have no cavities really, just teeth we'll be 'keeping an eye on'.
Masaru had a loose tooth that the dentist took out.  Masaru was hesitant at first but the dentist (who's a friend, remember the roof Dru helped out with one night?  That was the dentist's roof) promised that he'd numb it and it'd be ok.  So Masaru let him do it then popped that sucker right out.  Then, to my horror, gave Masaru $5 because if you let the dentist take out a tooth that's what the prize is I guess.  That's crazy, but Masaru was all over it like stink on pooh.
Yuki, who went first, had a few loose teeth as well and refused to have them taken out by the dentist.  After she saw what happened with Masaru she was upset and asked me if she could get back into the chair and have him take out a couple of teeth.  I'm like "I don't think so sistah, you snooze you loose mate"
They have a follow up appointment tomorrow to simply get sealants in and so Yuki has been wiggling all her teeth and is determined to have him pull out at least one tooth tomorrow hahahaha
Last night Masaru popped another tooth out as well.  This kid is making bank of all these teeth.  He's saving up for a certain lego and is quickly getting to his goal of $37 thanks to this dentist!!
Poor kid has his father's mouth and has a mouth full of teeth that he has little room for.  Another year and then we'll be staring down at our wallets forking out thousands to get those bad boys worked on.  Oh well, no more trips to NZ I guess hahaha

I still have my wisdom teeth on the top of my mouth and one of them has a cavity.
Every dentist I've been to in this country has told me to get those wisdom teeth out.  For whatever reason wisdom teeth are a no no over here, yet back home half the people you talk to still have half if not all of their wisdom teeth in and are doing JUST FINE AMERICA!!!
So I've always told the dentists "I'm fine, leave them alone" Then they answer back with things that will happen and the what if's etc and I'm like "Yeah, yeah, see ya later"
Truth be told I had a horrible experience getting my lower two out and don't want to go through that again so I don't want anyone touching my teeth.
That story can be told in another post, but with this dentist being a friend, and one of the teeth having a cavity in it, it's time for me to face facts, sooner, rather than later, that tooth will have to either get a filling in it or be pulled and pulling is cheaper and if we're gonna pull the one, then we might as well pull the other right?
See the dilemma?  So after almost 14 years of dentists hassling me, I've finally given into Quinn and said he can remove them.
It's happening Friday at 2pm, so if all my readers can have a moment of silence and prayer for me, that'd be much appreciated as I'm pretty scared.
I know that Quinn's the man to do it and will look after me better than anyone else, but that only takes away from some of the nerves I have.
I'm not going to be a good patient, poor Quinn.  Maybe I'm gonna need $5 a tooth to get through it all.
Anyway if you need a good dentist and are in the Boise area, Quinn's your man.  He's super good with the kids, really nice guy and is great with adults as well.  You won't regret it.
Here's his website below

Wish me luck.

Fun weekend

So Dru rings me in the morning and tells me there's a cancellation at the simplot cabin up in McCall and if we wanna go. Last minute? I had plan of a nice relaxing weekend, getting my house tidy etc etc. All out the window. We invited our mates, they were keen, so we were in. The cabin was awesome, the trip was awesome. We stayed up late playing risk. The kids got along great, went to bed late, got up early, ate way too much popcorn and drank tons of hot chocolate. It was a party from start to end. Bonus as well, we didn't have to clean up..............THEY HAVE PEOPLE FOR THAT!!!! Whoooooohoooooooooooo So we packed up, cleaned NOTHING, didn't even make the beds, locked the door and left. Now that's my kinda cabin trip baby. Alright now sit back relax and check out the thousands of pictures and videos we took. That's right, put your feet up, sip some hot chocolate or cool lemonade depending on where you are in the world and be prepared to laugh and smile. Here's Masaru in slow mo sledding down this awesome hill. It's pretty funny.
Here's Yuki taking a spill at the end. She was ok.
Another slow mo of Masaru. Such a crack up.
Here's Takeshi taking it to the people.

 Check out these cuties.

They had the best time.  I mean what's not to love right?
At first we were apprehensive to play on the frozen lake, but Dru and Robby checked it out and it was 4 inches deep ice and so gave us the thumbs up.  Plus the lake was only knee deep where we were playing.  So even if we fell in, we'd be 'ok'
 Check out this cutie.
 Busy building an igloo.

Girls living the high life being dragged around by their mothers.
 The lake.

 The igloo.
Next Christmas card 2015 already done.  Sweet picture right?

Nat and I were making up a thought bubble for this picture of her hahahaha
Dru and I talking about something important.

 Cute kids.

 The Queen bees.
 Bleazards.
Two sweet ladies.

Someone's probably got 'his' sled haha
Time for some more awesome videos.

Pretty fun right?  They're each only seconds so it's pretty easy to go through them all.  So much fun man.  We were out there for a few hours.

Little glimpses of what we were playing in.  So beautiful right?

No wait, there's more videos, and these are pretty awesome.  Keep sipping that hot chocolate people or cool lemonade's in the southern hemisphere's.
This last one is pretty funny right?  That's how it really feels, and how it really was hahaha.

And just because we took them, here's the final set of pictures we took.  I told you to sit back man.

Love that pic of him sledding.  His face says it all.
This guy is gonna break all the ladies hearts man.
Check out that face and cheeky smile.  I can see it now...............all Emiko's mates are gonna love him hahahahaha

 Slaves to the sleds.
But that face is why you keep pulling them.

Robby gearing up for the big slide.
 Nailed it.

Just eating the snow.  Hey man, as long as it's not yellow we're safe right?
Yuki's little cute snowman.

Man as you can see, it was tons of fun and a great way to spend the night.
We packed up, cleaned nothing and headed out to the Pancake house for dinner.  Good food and good fun together.
We got home around maybe 7 that night?  I can't remember.
Thanks again Simplot for being awesome.  Best job ever!!
