Content

So Masaru and Yuki were inside bawling their eyes out in their rooms cause I told them NOT to go somewhere and they WENT anyway, so they were being punished.
So while I was listening to them I saw Takeshi outside playing in the dirt ane thought it was awesome.
But this is also the reason why my bathtub looks the way it does.
He loves this dirt pile the pine trees have made of our front yard.  He played out there for close to an hour.
I checked on him every few minutes and he didn't move from this spot.
I love the prints in the dirt in these pictures.
Some are his and some are the other kids bike tracks etc.
At any given opportunity Takeshi will take his shoes off.  He doesn't like wearing shoes.
I've tried more restrictive ones and he can get them off and ends up loosing them somewhere amongst the dirt, only to be found a few days later.
So crocs will have to do I guess.
I said to him 'smile Takeshi' and this is the face he gave me.

Then he wanted to show me something on his hand.
I'm not too sure what, maybe that it was so dirty.
At least one of my kids were happy and I could bask in that while ignoring my other crying kids.
Thanks Takesh!!

Side note: I saw Chris this morning and lost another pound. I'm happy.

Big Boy

So Takeshi started climbing outt've his crib (cot).  It's been an adjustment to say the least.  Masaru and Yuki NEVER DID IT even once.
Takeshi on the other hand is his own kinda fun though.
So I was given this toddler bed and thought "Well if he's climbing outt've the crib anyway............." and set it up last night.
I'm not gonna lie, it was a tough hour while he was in, out, in, out, in, out, and I controlled myself from beating him.
Then he finally fell asleep.
Naps will be tough too, but they already started to be a few days ago when he started climbing out.
Masaru and Yuki both NEVER got outt've their beds either when I transitioned them.
Takeshi, like I said, is his own kinda fun.
So some 'good luck' vibes will be much appreciated.

Then I got this bad boy in the mail on Monday.
That's right...........it's Takeshi's very own little big boy urinal.
It's SO CUTE.
I love it.
I've already showed him and he thinks it's kinda fun.
I'm officially starting on Saturday.
So I'll be outt've commission this Sat, Sun, Mon, so if I don't answer my phone, then you'll know why.
So it attaches to the side of the toilet, which I can bring with me to anyones toilet, like say Grandma in Utah.

Then when's he's done his business I just flip it over and it falls into the toilet.
I LOVE it.
But the real test will come when we start using it I guess.
I got Masaru {when he was training} a special seat with a cover on the front so he wouldn't pee straight out, but it was really hard for him to get his butt over that cover at the front.
Boys pee standing up, and if Takeshi can learn that right from the start I think that's important you know.
No messing around trying to push his penis down and then risking pee flying everywhere in my bathroom, boys are messy enough without making them pee while they sit down right?
So I hope it goes well.
Again, I need all your positive vibes peeps.
Got something negative to say?
Keep it to yourself...........................I'm done with negative potty experiences, this is gonna work, and if it doesn't at least I know I did it to the 'T' and it's the POTTY LADIES FAULT not mine.

Fillings

So both my kids went and got their fillings from the dentist done today.
I promised them if they did well I'd take them to Mac Donalds for lunch (damn you Mac Donalds for having a strangle hold on my children) because it's the only thing that I think could've gotten them through it all.
So we go in there and I'm not allowed back there with them.
They took Yuki and told me to wait in the waiting room.
I was a little crushed.
I know I could've made a stink and they would've HAD TO OF let me but I didn't.  I figured maybe they don't let the parents back because we could cause a little too much distraction I guess.
They let me in for the check ups and the cleanings, just not fillings I guess right?
Then they took Masaru, same thing.  So Takeshi and I sat out there and waited.
I FOR SURE thought I'd see my kids back out telling me that they would'nt let them touch them.
But no, they stayed.
Then they brought Yuki out to me first and said she'd done great and she was all smiles.
I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT.
I saw they did them, so they didn't just take her and play with her then bring her out.
She was happy as a lark.
Then Masaru came out with tears in his eyes.  He was a little more distraught.  They didn't have to numb Yuki but had to numb Masaru TWICE as after the first time he could still feel them drilling.
Poor Masaru.
So off to Mac Donalds we went.
I betcha NOW they'll be more inclined to brush their teeth RIGHT!!!
After this whole first hand experience.
They did WAY better than what I had given them any credit for.  To be honest I didn't think they'd go through with it.
I'm proud of them and hope this is the last stop we ever have to make at the dentist for a filling for the rest of our lives.

Last night

So last night I checked on the kids and saw this.
That's right Yuki's UNDER the bed sleeping peacefully away.  I think it might be because it's closer to the night light and she's scared of the dark?
She's asleep under there I'd say about 3-4 times a week.
Don't ask me why her tops off.  We don't encourage sleeping with no clothes on in this house.
Then when I woke up this morning and Dru was all in my face I realized that it was because she'd moved from under the bed to OUR BED.
I guess being close to the light wasn't good enough, she had to be with Dad the REAL protector of ALL MONSTERS.
It's the only reason I sleep with him, he's known for his repellant ways with the monsters.
Then Takeshi decided he wasn't going to sleep and got up at around 11pm to cry for about 30 mins about WHO KNOWS WHAT.
You do the usual, cuddle, offer food/drink, whatever it takes to calm the child.
He ended up falling asleep on the couch and we did the old 'pick up and move and hope for the best whilst transferring to crib' move.
It seemed to work but I heard him cry a couple of times during the night.  He's still asleep right now poor kid.  He didn't have a good night.
Masaru was the only one who got a good nights sleep.
I wonder if it's to do with his tent?
Maybe I should get everyone a tent.
Takeshi's birthday's coming up hmmmmmmmmmmm I've got no idea what to get him since he's got everything.
Ideas?
Anyway that was our night last night.

Summer swimming

So these last two beautiful weeks have been full with swim lessons for Masaru every morning.
I was totally MEANING to take pictures but never did..............*sigh* usless mother I am.
Anyway he did GREAT.
He was suppose to be able swim 25 yards (22.86 metres) front stroke and back stroke.
He can only swim 15 yards (13.71 metres) in each, which is ok.  But he did fantastic and I'm proud of him.
So I'll put him in same class again so he can just get better and better.
He was the youngest in the class.  He was with 8 year olds!!
So our mate lives in a complex that shares a pool.  Yaaaaaa for us ;)
So here's the kids swimming at that pool the other day.
They had a blast (thanks Nat) and Yuki learned how to swim by herself with her life jacket on.
She was really proud of herself amd so was I cause now I don't have to hold her 24 hours a day.
 There she goes.
Goooooo Yuki.
Masaru doesn't need anything just his goggles and away he went.
Here he is helping Takeshi in his floatie.
It was a little windy so a little cold.  But we all still had fun.
"Excuse me, your ghost legs are scaring my dog"
So turns out my legs are pretty white.
Oh well.
I was FREEZING when I got out of the pool.  The tips of my fingers were numb for about 30 mins.  It was weird and crazy.
Has anyone else had that happen to them?
Anyway I'm sure there'll be plenty of more days at the pool.
The kids ask me about it CONSTANTLY.
It gets old, but they're kids and they get excited about swimming and that's a good thing.
Good times.

Hodgepodge

So this is just a hodgepodge of stuff I wanted to blog about.
I was at book club the other night at one of my mates houses and we started talking afterwards and she gave me one of her roses growing in her garden.
It's been here on my table ever since and I love it.
When I'm filthy rich I'm going to have fresh flowers on my table for always...........love them.  I always feel bad they have to die though.
Mum grows roses so I had them my whole life.
Her roses always looked better than the plants I've seen here though.
A lot of rose bushes over here aren't bushes at all they're like something out of a horror film, all gangly and ugly looking.
I wonder what the difference is?
The flowers still look the same though, so if you focus on the flower, it's all good.
Then I whipped out the sewing machine yesterday and ignored all household duties.  I fixed our washing basket and downsized my swim skirts and then made Yuki's trousers into these capri's since she had MASSIVE holes in her knees.
If you look close it's not the best but I really don't care.
My sewing style is 'eyeball it and hope for the best' and it usually works out for me just fine.
Dru's the perfectionist sewer, I can watch him for a while then  it stresses me out all the pinning and measuring and ironing and pinning.......................SNOOZER..............his stuff always turns out good though......... go figure.
See anything here that looks familiar?
It's the left over material from this quilt my SIL made Yuki.  Now she's got pants to match.  I might make a dress outt've it too LOL
The materials so cute and I don't really have much material to tell you the truth and it's all so expensive and we really are running clean out of money with no job prospects and it's all up in the air.........................*ahem* where were we?
Oh yeah................Yuki's pants.
Look at that hole.  They're good pants, so I'm glad we can still use them, plus Yuki thinks she's pretty awesome with them on and goes around telling everyone her mother made them for her.
I'm not sure if that's a good thing, let's just hope the neighbours don't look too close, but I'm glad she likes them.
So these two pictures are the aftermath of bathing my two youngest children.
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?
I think they brought in half the dirt from under the pine trees outside.
I JUST CLEANED THE BATHROOM   *sigh*  oh well, at least my kids are clean.
Can you imagine all of this in their BEDS?
I'd rather have it in the bath.
I LOVE summer but I forget , all of a sudden, I have to DOUBLE my bathing which brings me up to twice a week LOL
You all think I'm kidding...........................and I'm not.
Bathing my kids is something I don't like to do.
Thank goodness Masaru can shower now.
It's not like it takes long but for some reason I just don't enjoy bathing my kids.  So they get 1-2 baths a week.
Hey man if I didn't work out everyday I'd only have 1-2 showers a week.

Journal Entry Forty

What are some of he things that you did with your neighbours (games, parties, etc.)?

I'm bored activity
YARN PAINTING

Dip a piece of yarn (or string) into paint and make squiggly shapes on construction paper by pulling yarn across paper.  Use this method to make your own wrapping paper by painting on plain shelf paper or make note paper:  Fold small sheets of paper, then decorate the top and sides.

Shoulder update

So I went to see a shoulder person yesterday..........with all three kids in tow I might add............and she looked at the MRI as well as my X-ray and did some 'tests' on me and said she thinks I have this.
Subdeltoid bursitis.
So as you can see from the picture she drew above there's a deltoid muscle that wraps around the front of the shoulder that has a bursa sack under it.
She thinks this is getting inflamed.
She said my shoulder looked GREAT in the MRI and maybe there's a slight chance that I might have a tiny tear in my lebrum but since I'm not showing any signs of being sore back there she really doubts it's that at all.
So she said Ibprofen and if I wanted to a cortisone shot.
I'm like 'What's that?'
She explained that it's like putting the anti-inflammatory straight into my shoulder and it lasts for 6 weeks.
I'm like 'Sure, let's do that instead of taking the pills'
And she's like 'Oh no, no, you'll still be taking the ibprofen twice a day 800mg for the next 6 weeks!'
'Oh ok'
'And I want you to see a therapist for the next six weeks as well'
'Alright, how often will I have to see that guy?'
'Around 1-3 times a week for an hour each'
'What? As you may have noticed I've got three very active kids {picture Takeshi hitting Yuki at this time while Yuki's hitting him back and screaming in his face while Masaru jumps over chairs} and that's kind've a lot'
So I think I might try and find somewhere for Takeshi and take the other two and give them paper and crayons to draw or bring Masaru's legos you know.
But then I think Takeshi will freak out being left alone so I'm not sure what to do.
At any rate she said 'So let's go and get that shot taken care of'
I'm like 'What, like right now?'
'Yep, I can do it right now'
'Ok'
So the nurse comes in and get everything set up.
Then she brings in the needle and all my kids {well not Takeshi} stop short in their tracks and stare.
Masaru goes 'Is that a shot?'
'Yes'
'I don't like shots, but I know they're healthy for you'
'Most of the time they are that's right'
Then the PA comes back in and gives me the shot and I look around and both Masaru and Yuki have one hand over their ear and one hand over their eyes and are facing the other way with a grimacing look on their faces.
That helped me with the weird feeling of the fluid going into my shoulder and I giggled a little.
Masaru came over and gave me a hug and asked if I was alright.
She told me not to work out for the rest of the week and I took last night off but might work out tonight and tomorrow morning.
We'll see.
Anyway so my first appointment at the therapist is on Monday.
We'll see how that all goes.

Lightning storm

So there was a storm last night in Boise.
ZERO rain, poor grass, but lots of lightning and hardly ANY thunder.
I was on the couch reading and after a while noticed Dru wasn't at the table studying.
I thought he'd just gone to get something to eat, he always eat cereal every night at around 10pm religiously.
But then after a few minutes I started searching for him and found him on our back doorstep taking these pictures of the storm and then a video.
I think they're pretty awesome, but am partly bias.
So what do you think?

Here's the video of the storm. You'll think it's just a black screen until the lightning strikes and then the video is pretty cool.
Be patient.
I've always loved lightning storms.
The best I've ever seen in my life was Brisbane's storms.
Man they were the best.
Given, I haven't been to every country in the world, but of all my travels.......Brisbane's storms are hands down the best.
(Brisbane is the main city in QLD Australia and was where I served my mission)

3 days

I'm a little scared  and very wary BUT I'm going to try the 3 day potty training with Takeshi.
If this works, which it should, then he'll be better than Yuki and I'll be a true believer.
Cause if this can work on one of my kids...........it can work on ANYONES.
My potty training episodes have been disastrous to say the least.
I wasn't going to start training Takeshi till he was AT LEAST 3 if not older.
But the book says 22 months is IDEAL and that's Takeshi.
I ordered this cool boy urinal thing you attach to the toilet and when that comes I'll plan on starting the three days.
No going out, no life for three days.................but it'll be worth it......if it works.
Anyone know where I can get 30 pairs of undies for $10?

Boise

So I made a little pact to myself that when I move to Boise I'll do everything in my power not to become attached to anyone {apart from friends who were already attached when I moved ;)}
So NO NEW MATES.
That was the goal.
It started off well.......it was easy to be nice to people on Sunday's at church and in the neighbourhood but not really see them during the week.
I mean we're all busy right?  And if I don't make and effort then people forget about you and you can slink into the background and meet your goals of NO MATES IN BOISE.
Then I got called into the youth programme at church...........I was thinking 'Uh oh, I hear there's some pretty awesome women in there, I'll have to be on my guard ;) {I'm only slightly kidding}
I don't hang out with any of them during the week (check) and just see them when I have to (check) but the problem is ......................... I totally like them and now if I move I'm starting to fear that I might actually MISS some of them....................*sigh*
I don't know why I do this to myself, you know, meet awesome women and fall in love with them, but it seems to happen to me quite often, even when I don't want it to, sort of.
Now what do I do?
It's almost July................and we'll probably be moving somewhere in the country that's NOT Boise?
Like maybe 2 months away I'll be gone.....................it's not fair.
There's about 4 women who I could see myself being really good mates with but I'm SO reserved about it because I'm probably leaving in 2 months and don't wanna get hurt again.
I know, I know, cry me a river Milz, but I'm telling you man moving every year or other year starts getting old AND I'M A MOVER.
Maybe I wasn't meant for moving?
I always thought I WAS meant for moving.
Bottom line.......................I.LOVE.BOISE....................and I wanna stay put..............right here.......in this ward, in this neighbourhood, in this town.
I've also realized that no matter how hard I try,  I LOVE a good woman and no matter what my attitude, I guess I'll always be attracted to them and wanna be around them.
Now I've gotta figure out if I really WANT to make and effort to get to know them better in these next 2 months and risk getting really upset when I have to leave them.
Cause let's get serious....................when will I ever be in Moscow again?
Yeah.......................like never...................and how many girls do I love up there?
Yeah................like 1000.
I hate it.
How many mates in Utah do I love?
Like.....................2000.
How many mates in Aussie?
20
How many mates in NZ?
1.2 million
Now my numbers in Boise are 4 and rising...................................
This is a growing pattern in my life and I don't see it ending in the near future at all.
I guess I need to just 'suck it up' and deal with it the best way possible.
Sometimes it just get old though and kinda hurts.
That's all.

Bevin's 21

My youngest brother is 21 and a year out on the mission.
What better place to spend your 21st.
Usually we have a big party back home to celebrate our 21st party.
I did.
But this is where Bevin is meant to be.
He's doing so well and we're so proud of him and pray for him all the time.
What a great example for my kids and to Dru and I.
It's definatley made us more missionary minded.
I'm glad his birthday was such a success and that he's so happy to be serving the Lord.
I'm not sure why his mate is holding the cake but I assume that was for Bevin?

Father's day etc etc

So we just got some more pic's from the Kayberry's of the Vegas trip.
So here they are.
I wanted to get them up here for the blog book.

 Llewellyn and Dru.
 The panoramic shot.
 Llewellyn and Leonard.
Dru and Leonard.
And that would be me and Dru, if you hadn't already noticed.
So this morning I 'let' Dru sleep in till 11am then got him up.  I was like 'come on babe it's 11 and the kids wanna give you their fathers day gifts'
So he got up.
Yeah, THAT'S how tired he is.
Poor guy.
He'd probably still be asleep now if I didn't go in.
So we gave him a bag of his favourites and the kids drew him pictures and stuff.
I got him a card.
I WAS going to make his fav dish for dinner and red velvets.
But ...........I totally forgot to do the shopping for it.
Oh well..........better luck next time Dru.
He ended up making dinner for some reason and served it up and did the dishes.........................where was I on that one?
Anyway we watched a movie as a family and I think it was a nice day.
I guess I should ask him.

I've decided to get through my 'hate' of fathers day I need to throw myself into celebrating it with Dru so I don't think about it too much.
I was talking to my brother today and his attitude was 'You should love father's day, dad's happy and doing well'
I'm glad he's got a better outlook on it than me.
So today's been the best fathers day so far since dad died to tell you all the truth.
NZ does it on a different day................first Sunday in Sept I think or Aug I forget which one.
You kinda rely on media to tell you  really............
Anyway, low key, lots of sleep........................................pretty good I reckon.

Update

 So Dru gets home.
We entertain some of our mates.
Then he decides he's sick of this whole shark teeth syndrome and goes and get these pliers.
I HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS GOING ON.
 Masaru comes back with this.
I'm like 'What, how did that happen'
To which I saw Dru walking behind him with the pliers in hand.
Did he wash them?
I dunno and I don't wanna know.

So now my baby boy has TWO teeth out.
Which is a good thing I guess since those other bad boys and growing through already.
Hopefully they'll have some room now and straighten out.
So his first tooth he put under his pillow, then Yuki snuck in and got a hold of it and dropped it in our carpet and now it's lost forever in his room somewhere until I whip the dyson out.
He was crying for a long time cause he knew the tooth fairy wouldn't give anything for a lost tooth.

Then he was holding his other tooth and got it knocked out of his hand (mistakenly I might add) and started bawling his eyes out cause now he has ZERO teeth to put under his pillow.
I felt bad for him so told him I'd write him a note.
This is what I came up with.
I brought it into his room and put it under his pillow and told him to hope for the best.
Gavin and Tiffany felt so bad that they (plus Dru) searched and searched in the carpet for the missing tooth and Tiffany TOTALLY FOUND IT!!
Man I couldn't even believe it.
So she gave it to Gavin, who didn't even know he helped loose it, and he presented it to Masaru who was over the moon about it.
Turns out the tooth fairy didn't mind and gave him a $1 for his two teeth.
He was pretty pumped about it this morning.
Turns out the tooth fairy is a softie and a total sucker for Masaru.

Side note
Last night Dru goes to me 'So how much are we gonna give him?'
I'm like 'I dunno'
He said 'Be careful cause you'll be setting a  presidence right here'
I'm like 'Why do I have to be the one with all the pressure?  Can't we make this decision together?  I don't wanna be blamed for anything years later and you turn around and say 'It was your mother'.
So we decided 50c a tooth and Dru was actually the one who put it under his pillow.
I forgot and was gonna go to bed.
Luckily Dru said 'Don't forget about the tooth fairy'
I can't believe I forgot so easily.  It was such a big part of the day.
I guess I was just tired.
Luckily Dru's {secretly} into this kinda stuff just as much as I am.
It always helps, especially when your as forgetful as I am.

Oh no......

 I'm not ready.
I don't need this right now.
This isn't happening.
Who said he was allowed to do this?
I don't want him to grow up.

At around 5:30pm tonight Masaru lost his first tooth.
Look at those teeth.
I know, I know, they need to come out right?
He's got what Dru calls 'shark teeth' cause those big ones are growing in behind.
They're all jacked up.
Hopefully they'll straighten out like the dentist said they would.

He said he was trying to get that red lego {above} apart with his teeth and it just popped right out.
He's in time out {read post below} and so cautiously says 'Ah Mum, my tooth came out'  to which I replied 'What? Bring it here.  Tell me how it happened.  Show me, show me.'
My little boy is growing up.
6 and a half and he looses his first tooth.
I'm not ready for all of this.
I seem to be in denial about a few things now I think about it, my age, my kids growing up blah blah blah.
I sho'uld seek help for this........................
Man what's the tooth fairy going to do?
Maybe I'll tell her to skip out house ;)
