When you look this good ...........

Emiko has great hair.  We've never cut it (I don't think, right babe?) so this is just from birth.  It's got this awesomeness about it, bounce, shine, body, style, it's amazing.
She'll often go around the house giving it a flick out of her eyes.  We laugh every time cause it's like she's a superstar prancing around the house, when in actuality I think she's simply trying to get it out of her eyes.
I sure hope she lets me keep it long...............

Masaru's work

I love children's writing, especially my own.
Here's a couple of the latest installments of Masaru's work.
The Merlin missions are from the magic tree house series. He's almost finished the whole series. They're a little easy for him now but I think reading is about enjoyment as well, not just reading 'at your level'

This poem is awesome. I love it.
I hope he doesn't worry about Dru liking his job. Dru never brings work home, always is here at normal hours, barely travels and never works weekends or complains about work. It's interesting what our kids say.
Also what he says about understanding his sister is cute. I like that he's also in visioning things he can't currently do.
All fascinating.

I had no idea he wanted to live in the country.
Can you imagine if we lived in a horrible big city?  He'd dream of being in boise again.

Good job Masaru.
Love you.

Let's go fly a kite.....................

So on Sunday I needed a nap. I was in bed for 2 hours but didn't have a 2 hour nap.
Children seem to not get the memo that when your parents eyes are closed, they are closed for conversations. So I would fall sleep only to be woken up by a constant "Mum, mum, mama, mum, mum, look at what I did"
Then I'd drift back off to sleep for 20 mins only to be woken again.
Story of my life right? Oh well.
When we got up we decided to take Yuki's kite, she got for her birthday, out for a spin at the soccer fields.
To begin with there was zero wind.  So the kids just ran with the kite to try and get it to fly.  Takeshi got a $1 kite for his birthday as well so he brought that and was running around with it too.  If nothing else the kids got a great work out for 30 mins.
Look at that face man?  I LOVE this picture of Takeshi.  I'm telling you man, capturing pictures of this kid sums him up more than I could write.

Then the wind started picking up and we were in heaven.  We started to fly the kite properly and not have to run.  Once we got it up in the air we could let go of all the string and just stand there.  It was pretty awesome.
I'd also like you to note Emiko in the picture above ^^^^  I mean how cute is that captured moment?
I must admit I did nothing and Dru did everything.

Here's a video of the flying.

The kite is a really nice one.  Good material and takes to the wind really nicely.  I'm glad we picked it up.

Yuki was loving it.

Here's a video of Takeshi flying his dollar kite.
You get what you pay for man, that's all I'm saying.
Nah he had tons of fun with it and loved it.  So that made him and all of us happy.
It was nice to spend some time together with the kids, sometimes we get a little busy with things and other people's things that just spending time, just us, is really nice and I know the kids love it.
It's so important and it's the reason why I need to keep Sunday's ours.

Yuki turns 7

So Yuki turned 7 yesterday and we had a tiny party for her.
I got her some balloons.  That always screams birthday right?
Here she is with her presents.  My children are so spoiled with my and Dru's family sending my children, cards and gifts, it humbles me all the time.  We are very grateful for the thoughtfulness and love of family and friends at birthday times.  Thanks to all.
Yuki wanted a cow cake.  So that's what we made her.
Here she is in all her glory.  Beautiful right?
Like how I set this picture up with the beautiful background?  Hahaha
Yuki had a couple of friends over and we opened presents first cause why not right?
She was spoiled man.  It's crazy.
Lego's was the theme of her presents.  Love legos.
She's already made them all up and have played with them all weekend.

She got some beautiful cards made by her friends.  So cute man.

A much needed helmet from her Auntie Brooke.
Wonderful gift from her other Auntie.

Cute winter boots from her friend.
We got her a scooter so she can race her brothers.
Then we got into the pinata.

Go Emiko.

Go Takeshi.

This is my favourite picture of a child hitting the pinata.  Cute right.  Look at her face and leg kicked up!! hahaha
Getting some of the loot.

Masaru finally cracked the whole thing open.  It was a tough one.
Yuki pulling weird faces for her father hahaha
Love this girl

 Singing happy birthday.
Our friends came to the church childrens programme today  and gave Yuki this gift.  It's a 'good luck' scarf from their home country of Napal and said you get one every birthday and when you get married.  My friend Nawang told me it's real name and I forget cause I'm useless.  But it has specific pictures from Napal and writings as well.  Such a special gift and we were very touched.
Yuki said that she was going to wear it every Sunday to church.  Nawang and Tashi are great friends of ours.  We're lucky to have them in our lives.

Then today she spent some time making up her gift from Auntie Les.  They had a great time doing these today.
There's a Lion, kiwi and racoon.
 Cute right?
Yesterday was crazy, crazy, crazy.  Between three soccer games and the church kids practice and her birthday I was going mental.
BUT what do you do?  It's nobody's fault and you just gotta suck it up and try your best.
Yuki scored 6 goals yesterday and Takeshi and Masaru one each.  I missed all their games due to having to be at the church for this practice for the programme today.  I'm sad I missed watching them.  I love watching them play.

Yuki had a really great day and a great time for her birthday.
Yuki is such a good girl.  She amazes me all the time with her kindness, helpfulness and genuine concern for friends and family.
She's a sensitive soul and is a happy girl.
She's a natural nurturer.  She's going to make a really good babysitter when she's of age and loves children/babies already.  I was never like that.
She loves to draw and is doing so well at school.  She has good friends and loves to read.  She's a quick learn and loves to just be on her father's lap.
Yuki loves people in general.
I think she's so beautiful and wish I had her skin colour.  Oh well.
Yuki is an essential part of our family.  I'm glad she's with us and is around to be with me and her siblings.  I don't know what I'd do without her help, friendship, love, support and caring nature.
I love her more than she realizes and I need to do a better job of letting her know that by giving her more hugs, kisses and me time.
Thanks for loving me Yuki and being so wonderful to me, your father and siblings.
