Kids wonderful art work

So Takeshi brought his poems home.
Here they all are.

Yuki's artwork.

Masaru's artwork

His goals are to make new friends at JH

More of Masaru's artwork.

Masaru brought his math test home and aced it and got this note from his teacher on the back. I was so proud of him man. I just want him to be ok in math you know. I hope he can be ok.

Memorial weekend

So Saturday we had to get things done.
Masaru and Dru went mountain biking. I was suppose to go but my body was DONE man and so I chose to rest.
I got up and slowly, with the kids, tidied the house up. It was a disaster from me ignoring it, like I still am 4 days later right now!!!
Then we slowly started cleaning up the yard and packing up all the birthday party stuff and giving it back to people we borrowed it from.
Then Takeshi went swimming with his mate, Yuki and Masaru went to a friends bday party and Emiko played with Bryan and Claire on the slip and slide at their place.

Here they all are watching a movie all squished together and happy.
With each of the kids taken care of Dru and I decided to go around and drop off everything to everybody. It worked out pretty perfect.
Then we had some dinner once everybody came home from all of their adventures and decided to go to the dollar movies and watch a film called 'Born in China' about a bunch of animals. It was like a documentary.
The snow leopard mother died so I bawled my eyes out in the back of the theater. It sucked man. She died all by herself and sacrificed all for her kids and who knows how the cubs did without their mother. They never did tell us. Stupid disney movie. (sigh) oh well. I've got a bleeding heart, that's how I roll man.
We went home and I was sad the rest of the night so got a couple of redbox movies but Dru and I ended up talking all night so I never watched them.

I got up early and watched one of the movies I got called "You before me?"I think. Let me find it, hold up.

Yeah so if you wanna bawl your eyes out again after watching 'Born in China' then this is the movie for you. I can't stop thinking about it man and how it ended. It was a 'good' movie but it's horrible too and makes you think.
So then I looked like death warmed up so put on make up to try to hide the puffy eyes and went to church.
We then came home and chilled out as a family until we went to our mates BBQ in their back yard. It was nice not to cook and just bring a salad and chips.
The company was good too and I was relaxed and happy to be hanging out with friends.
Later on that night Dru and I watched the other movie I got which was called 'Fences'
It sucked.

If you wanna watch a movie where a man sucks and sucks the whole movie and then dies? Then his is for you. It wasn't for Dru and I that's for sure.
So we called it quits and went to sleep.
But on Monday we got up and went mtb and that's never a mistake. One of my YW shuttled us up bogus so we could mtb all the way down. I loved it.
I crashed and hit my head though and hurt my hip and neck, but I'll survive.
It smelled great and looked great and felt great.
My buddy in the background.

I was tired but happy.

Once we got home we got to work on hanging out with the kids and cleaning and prepping for a BBQ we were having with our mates the Braun's and Cranes.
The irrigation came through as well and we had a huge pond in our backyard. So the kids basically played in that all day and night.
Let me try and find the video that Dru took.

Pretty awesome right?

It's been getting hot so I'm glad we got the irrigation so our yard doesn't fry up.
The BBQ with our mates and nice and low key and relaxing. Good food and good fun.
Later on that night Dru and I took our cruiser bikes over the Keith's place to see a project he'd been doing. It's looking good man. He's done a great job.

I was watching the kids playing in the irrigation and laughing together and had a 'moment' where everything felt good and right in the world and I knew I needed to take this moment in and remember how happy I am and how lucky I was to be in that moment.
I got a little teary eyed and thanked Heavenly Father for my children, Dru, my house, the sunshine and my life right now. I was very happy and content with my life. I know having my kids at this age and with me like this is just for a short time and I love it and love them.

The weekend was so great. We went nowhere and didn't do much of anything but it was just perfect and what our family needed. I had a wonderful time and am grateful for the soldiers and what they do for the good of all for us to have this wonderful celebration.
One more week of school then SUMMER BABY HERE WE COME.

Friday fun day

So I put the word out to Natalie that I was gonna take the kids for a bike ride down to the river and did she wanna join. Turns out she did, so we went for it. The kids got out early from school so it was a great activity to do.
The river is totally flooded, so it made for a wonderful time.
Two mum's and seven kids.

Me trying to get in on the picture and Natalie showing off her biceps hahahaha
Is that Emiko doing a double peace sign?
Having fun in the overflow of the river.

You can never be too sure which is why Claire is showing us safety first with her helmet on, even though she's not on her bike.
How cute are these guys?

On the way home we had a chain break a flat tire and a broken brake. We made it though but I won't go again on another ride without my tools. Silly, silly Milz

Later on that night we watched a movie and here's Emiko getting all cosy and comfy. I love it.
It was the beginning of Memorial weekend.
We were going to go to Utah but decided to stay home and get some things done.

Here's what we like to call Tobiko, Emi and Toby combined.
How cute are these two?

I'm pretty sure that Dru and I went and did something on Friday night but I can't remember what. Oh well. Maybe I'll ask him, hold up.
Ok so I got an REI card for my birthday and spent it on a new seat for my bike.
Well turns out I didn't like the seat so Dru and I went back to REI  to get my money back.
Turns out I really liked a seat on Dru's old bike, so we're good.
My old seat on my bike was falling apart and was more like a cruiser seat. Nice and wide and super soft and squishy. I LOVED it man, but it was hard for me to get my bike between my legs to ride down obstacles and steep sections and so had to figure something else out.
Anyway after wandering around REI I decided to get a couple of pairs of shorts with my card and I love them.
Then Dru and I decided to try a place called SMASH BURGER and it was pretty decent man.
Great Friday night together as a family and a couple.

Takeshi's poem day

Takeshi's class did a poetry festival and so he, as well as the rest of his class, performed a bunch of poems.
Here he is in the big group reading.

Here he is in the smaller group reading. Look at this kids face man.

Then he did his poem about if he ruled the world. It's hard to hear so I'll put a copy of it under here.

And here he is with some of his classmates.
They did a good job. Takeshi's teacher has been good this year. I liked Ms Inman better, but Mrs. Simpson is a close second.

I got a slew of birthday cards and I don't have the heart to throw them out. Some of them have really nice notes in them. So I figure if I can blog them then I have them forever right?
