Who's this kid?

So we went to the ward Halloween night. Here we are. No theme, no rhyme or reason, just us. I'm a construction worker, easy since I was basically helping everyone else out with theirs.
Here's Dru. Wolverine. We tried to get some claws but too late man. We need to work the bugs out with his hair too. Tomorrow it'll be better.
What do you think? I think he looks the part man. I think he looks pretty hot, if I do say so myself.
Here we've got the kiddies. Yuki's a mummy and is obviously very pleased with her choice as you can see here. I love this photo cause they both look so pathetic. So cute.
This is at least a better one of Masaru.
And here we've got the star of the show, Masaru, dressed as the cat in the hat. His costume cost me about $2.20. So I'm pretty happy with that.
He was really excited to be dressed as this. He was racing around the house skipping everywhere. It turned out better than we could've hoped, so we were really happy.
Masaru collected A LOT of candy and raced around the chapel with all his 'mates' as he calls them. Yuki got in a better mood and raced around as well, just by herself, tripping on her mummy outfit that was falling around her ankles!
It was a good night with good people.
Now onto tomorrow night. I'm not sure if we're gonna go out again. Masaru informed me he doesn't want to be the cat in the hat again. He wants to be Handy Manny!! So who knows. I'll keep you posted.

Inviting others to the chaos!

So we had family home evening on Monday night and decided to invite the Ritchies along to the chaos. I'm sure if they could put the night in one word, this is the word they'd choose. I could be wrong but that's just my guess.
We had dinner, it wasn't even ready when they turned up, but at least it was somewhat decent, thank goodness. Brandon kept saying he'd eat anything, thanks Brandon, and Sarah ate more than what she thought she could. I think that was a good sign right there. I asked Sarah to do caramel apples with me, since I'd never done them over here before. So we decided to make a night of it.
So here's Dru taking control of the situation and making them. That's right folks I didn't even do them.........wait hang on............I did one. At least I was there though so if I ever decide to venture out and do something without Dru I might be able to do it. Who knows.

Masaru sure had fun though jumping all over Brandon and Sarah until I think they were about done. Dru gave Brandon the warning right from the start "Dude he doesn't care about your privates, so watch out"
We probably had the world's shortest lesson on prayer. I was hoping that Masaru would answer all the questions properly so Sarah and Brandon knew we actually do pray with Masaru. I think he did ok.
He sang the popcorn song really enthusiastically though, so that was at least cute.

It always amazes me when couples with no kids take such a huge interest in yours and treat them so well. Sarah and Brandon have always been really good to our kids and our kids like them. I'm telling you when it was just me and Dru we didn't take an interest in anyones kids. It would've been like pulling teeth to get us to babysit them, and here was Sarah volunteering and Brandon being ok with it. Amazing!!
I'm from a big family, I know how to babysit, I just never got into anyones kids!
Sarah's from a big family and gets into ALL OF OUR KIDS IN THE WARD!
Like I said amazing, truely amazing. I'd be running off doing tons of fun things with Dru and not looking back or feeling guilty about it. Plenty of years to be babysitting your OWN kids every night so you can't remember when the last date was with your hubby!!
*sigh*
So thanks Ritchies for enduring the chaos. I know I've got a lot of work to do to make the home less chaotic but for now it is what it is.

Two peas in a pod

You've all seen what Yuki does when I ask her if she'd like a bottle. So a couple of days ago she was down having a bottle and Masaru decided he needed one too. So I made him some 'warm' milk (it had to be warm he said) and he rolled down beside his sister and they both drank their warm milk together like two peas in a pod.

I'm really 42!!

So my mate has a Wii Fit. I just found this out about 5 days a go.
Turns out you can find out your age based on your weight height age and BMI. You can set goals with it and tell it how much weight you wanna loose and it basically talks to you and gives you ideas of what to do to help yourself out.
So I thought, sure I'll give it a go.
So I'm obese and I'm 42 years old.
This was my first turn on it about 5 days ago.
What a shocker. Well not that I"m obese. I already knew that.........but that I'm really a 42 year old body stuck in a 31 year old mind.
I was really shocked.
Then in my photo shoot I really realized how big I actually am. I always convinced myself that I'm not as bad as what I really am.
And there, standing in front of the Wii Fit, in front of my mate, it told me the reality.
So maybe this is the help I need.
And maybe blogging about it will commit me even more cause now you all know.
So I weighed in again 3 days later after watching what I ate and exersizing those 3 days and had lost half a pound and after all the tests was at the ripe old age of 38.
So I'm doing better.
So I'm committing to myself, like I did to the Wii that by the end of November, hopefully I can be much more improved with my weight and with my age.
I hope when I post again at the end of November I'll have a better age for you all, but I guess, when it comes down to it a better age for me. Cause a better age for me, means a better life for all my family.

7 weird things about me (This is gonna gross you out)

#1 I used to have 13 warts on the under part of my hands. I tried everything to get rid of them. Then when I shifted high school in my last year they just disappeared. Who knows where they went!!
#2 I've had shingles. It hurts man. I was around 6ish.
#3 I've had scabies twice.
#4 I've had head lice/nits around 4 or 5 times. I'm surprised I've got any hair left.
#5 I only started getting cold sores when I was 21. Since I've had about 4.
#6 I have this black spot in between my 3rd and 4th toe. What is it?
#7 Out of all 7 of us siblings we have less than 10 fillings in our teeth, and nothing greater than a cap.

So if you can't be my friend after reading this I understand.
There were 7 of us and we were pretty poor and lived in a poor area and we caught a lot of things off of each others friends etc.
I'm glad mum always took the time to clean us up though and take us to the doctor. I've taught children who's parents do nothing about their headlice!!! Oh hang on she put eggs and beer in her daughters hair. Yeah she still had them!
My mum said if I caught headlice again she was going to shave my head. I never caught them after that threat. Hmmmmmmmmmm My mum would really do it too.
I tag
#1 Anyone reading this in their PJ's
#2 Anyone reading this in their underwear
#3 Anyone wearing green RIGHT NOW.
#4 Anyone who's Samoan and lives in Pleasant Grove and is pregnant with a boy.
#5 Anyone who hates doing tags
#6 Anyone who just lost 5 pounds this week
#7 Anyone who's had scabbies, headlice and shingles, just like me.

Little Cutie

I just thought Yuki looked extra cute today so thought I'd get a pic of her and share. She's lying on the floor not standing up against a carpet wall!!

Our Day and Night with Gwen Stefani (jokes man jokes) Kent

This first shot is pictures Gwen did for Masaru and Yuki. Megan said they HAD to make it here cause Gwen was so determined to give them to us. Then when she got here she didn't reallly seem to care. It was pretty funny. Our kids like to do that to us don't they, make a big deal out of something, then 5 mins later forgot they even cared! At least at this age! So Gwen comes over at 7:30am while Megan is having contractions. She made them look easy by the way. They give me the low downs of what she likes etc and then they're outta here, to go have a baby less than 2 hours later, ALL NATURAL.
We get her out and I decide to do her hair. This is the result. Don't you think it's pretty cute? Well I do. She took it out a few times throughout the day and I just put it straight back in. She gave up in the end and left it in.
So we drop Masaru off at Head Start and we stick around for a bit then leave. Well Gwen didn't like that. She was saying "Masaru, Masaru, Masaru" I guess she didn't want to leave Masaru. I thought she'd get over it but she didn't. She cried all the way home and continued to cry in the flat/apartment. I gave her whatever she wanted but she wasn't interested. 'Rasins?' She threw the bowl of raisins over. 'Toys?' Not interested but Yuki wasn't allowed to play with any toys either. I wasn't sure how to handle the situation so I put her on the couch and gave her her two blankets and her 'George' and she just sat there with them.
I went and did a couple of things and came back to the next picture.
Yep fast asleep. So I put an extra blanket on her and she slept there for 2 hours. Yuki was down and her too. But I couldn't really make too much noise. So I just pottered around trying not to wake the two girls up.
So I have a shower and get ready for the family photo shoot. The girls get up and then between feeding them and doing myself up and picking Masaru up and doing him up and finding out from Dru his dental visit was going to cost $680 because medicaide don't cover root canals we finally made it to the shoot.

Here's what Gwen was up to. Yep having the time of her life, in these leaves. Doesn't this pic. just make you smile. I think it'd be a great baby gap add "Look how excited this little girl is about the fall line" Or you know, something like that.
When we moved spots we brought out the marshmellows to calm kids down and while we were doing our family pic's. I think Gwen grabbed a few handfuls. She was pretty happy with that.
After the photo shoot we decided to visit Gwen's new brother. That was awesome. I left her there for a bit and went shopping.
Then came back and grabbed her. We had dinner and I had to visit a couple of ladies in the ward for the month. I came back and Gwen was in her snuggly purple PJ's and her and Masaru were watching 'Rescuers Down Under'.
Once this was done she had some milk we read some books then her and Masaru went to bed. I should've got a shot of the three of them in that one bedroom. Her pack'n'play fit perfectly in there. I didn't think it would, but Dru figured it out.
Her and Masaru giggled and talked for a bit and then they fell asleep.
The next morning she woke up with Yuki at 7am and then we had breakfast and bath and I did her hair in cute little pig tails then her dad came and picked her up.
I think she had a good time as she was crying for a bit when she had to leave. That's always a good sign.
I'm sure she's pretty happy at home now with her new brother.
Thanks for a great time Gwen. You're a great kid to babysit.
Thanks for loving Masaru and Yuki so much.
Especially Masaru. He doesn't deserve it.

And the winner is....................

So there you have it folks. Thanks for all the entry's.
When I posted this I also decided that I was going to do something for the 3 people that have given me the most blog love too since starting my very own blog. We all know that means comments.
So the three people who I"m also going to bring something back for are
#1 Brenna (my cousin)
#2 Kristin (my SIL)
#3 Laura. T (one of my BFF's)
Thanks guys for always being there for me with ALL of my many posts and making sure I know I"m listened to and loved. Even though I know your lives are busy and you have much to do. It means the world to me.

I realize there are many others who have given me much love and have been with me since the beginning. So many thanks to you guys for looking and loving my blog through comments and just reading it.
I don't know of any person who doesn't like getting comments, I asked and no one said they didn't like it.
So how about for just today, every blog we look at we comment on.
It dosen't have to be huge just something like "Hi" so we can all know that someone's thinking about us, someone supports us, someones interested in our thoughts and lives, someone appreciates us, someone's celebrating with us and most important someone loves us.
Sound good to you?

Nakaya Family Shoot

K8 is a budding new photographer and I asked her to do us in these wonderful Autumn colours. She accepted and I think, did a great job.
There's a lot more beautiful ones but here are a few.
My favourite is the black and white one of the whole family.
Tell me and K8 which is your favourite.
If you're in Moscow and want K8 to do your pic's, I highly reccomend her. Even if I can't spell that word right she's a great pic. (no pun intended) and for a limited time, she's pretty cheap, actually dirt cheap. Get in while the goings hot.
Click here to tell K8 and I which is your fav.

Memory #2

I've been thinking about my memories because of doing these posts and I have tons. So I think I'll have enough for the rest of the life of this blog. I mean I have been around for 21, alright alright 31 years!!
So memory number two is when I was around 4 years old. It was back in the old ages of 1981, please don't write a comment like I WASN'T EVEN BORN THEN, I don't need any help reminding myself of my age!! Even though I've said THOSE EXACT SAME WORDS to many people. Maybe what comes around goes around right!?! Be nice.
Anyway BACK TO THE POINT. Memory number two was back in Invercargill of NZ.
See it WAY down there at the bottom of the country.
Well in 1981 there was a massive flood in Southland. NZ has provinces not states, Southland is the province Invercargill is in.
I remember we were in our yellow house on Islington St. I remember being woken up by my parents all in a fluster. We basically got ripped out of our rooms and shoved in our GOLDEN KINGSWOOD car. I loved that car. I cried when we sold it for our red station wagon. No carsets to have to deal with as we had no seatbelts back in the old days to worry about. So all us kids were shoved in the back of the car.
Now I remember something not being right and slowly coming to the realization that it was because our diveway and yard were covered in water. I remember Dad was pretty flustered as he didn't know if he was gonna be able to drive us out.
I guess my parents had already made plans to take us to a friends house. We made it out and Dad drove us there. Dad left us and Mum stayed with us with these people. It was the Pokere's. He was an Allblack later on!!
But the flood kept on flooding and we were moved to another place. This was the Maha's house and we stayed there. We all slept on the floor and I thought it was kinda fun.
My Dad went back to our street and helped out. He pulled neighbours out of their houses and stuff like that. They did a book on the flood and Dad was in it.
When we finally got to go back to our house we were nervous about all of our stuff being wrecked.
But after much praying and fasting (done by the adults) our house was never touched inside, with the water. It got all the way up to our door but never went inside. Our neighbours on both sides had the water go inside and had lots of $ worth of damage done to their stuff.
Us kids played in the backyard for days in the water. It was so much fun. I also remember an important and maybe my first big lesson on prayers being answered and the reality of God.
Maybe the flood was 1984 and I was 7. How could I remember all this stuff. I"m gonna have to ask mum when the actual date was. Cause if I can remember all this and only be 4 that's amazing!!

Ok after recieving, no not spelling lessons, but an email from home it was 1984!! January. So I was 6.

Carving Pumpkins

We bought a pumkin a week and a half ago intending on carving it. It just sat and waited and finally last night we did it. We had Megan and Gwen around (by the way she's in labour RIGHT NOW, exciting stuff aye)
So I'm gonna tell you what went down so you have some undersanding about this difference between Dru and I.
Well Dru cut's the top in this beautiful star shape then starts doing the guts part. He then hands it over to me and I finish gutting the pumpkin, you know the hard yards, the no one sees who does this part. Then I go to start cutting the face and Dru has a fit. We've got to figure out the face, we've got to draw it on first. I"m like ok. So he gets a piece of paper and starts doing a rough outline.
COME ON MAN IT'S JUST A PUMPKIN!!!!
I wasn't brought up with carving pumpkins. We don't have anything in NZ that looks like an american pumpkin. I did it once with my second graders. I like it. I think it's great.
Both Dru and I did art in Highschool and Uni. But the difference in our art is amazing. Dru's is all life like and perfect and mine's all over the show. I guess it's the same with our pumpkin carving. I"m just into it and he wants to make it perfect.
So I took the guts out and carved the eyebrows. THAT'S IT. That was all I was allowed to do.
So consequently our pumpkin looks amazing.
Good work Dru.
I think Megan's pumpking looks awesome too.
Hence the pic. on the top of my blog now.
It was a fun night.
I'm glad Dru's the way he is. Can you imagine 2 me's? Man that would be a disaster. We'd get nothing done and everything would be scruffy and late.
Love you babe.
If you still wanna enter into my competition for something of your choice from NZ click here

Dentist

So Masaru went to his first Dental visit yesterday and........................di di di daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah ZERO CAVITIES. So looks like he got the Wright/Parsons teeth and not the dreaded Nakaya teeth. Don't get me started about Druzie and his teeth!
I just can't believe how well he did. The nurse was AWESOME. So I"m sure that made a huge difference. He got an x-ray and everything.
This place was BRAND NEW and amazing. I'm so impressed with it and how things went. It could've been a disaster and it wasn't. So he got a spiderman tatoo, toothbrush, dinosuar floss thingie and a certificate with a shady picture of him on the front LOL.
What was Yuki doing?
Well she was running around like a headless chicken, getting into every nook and cranny, breaking sunglasses, wooing the secrataries. I said don't be sucked into those big blue eyes man, she's all trouble.
It was too late.................they were sucked in.
Just like her father!!!

Because.........you know..............I'm that kinda girl ;)

So I thought with me going to NZ and all I could do something fun for my readers.
If you'd like to have a chance of me bringing something back for you just leave a comment.
Now if you're a reader from NZ, this isn't fair, so I'll bring you something over from the States and if I don't see you I'll post it to you when I'm in NZ.
Now if you're from Japan, Aussie or another country then I'll send you something from either country, NZ or USA.
If you win, it's your choice.
I was thinking maybe a few bars of NZ's chocolate. Or mabye a bone carving or something else you'd love, I can give you a few ideas. I'll get in contact with the winner and we can sort a deal out.
If the winner is from another country then we can chat and figure out what you'd like either from here or NZ.
Sound good?
Now how I'll pick the winner is I'll put each name from the comment on a slip of paper and put it in a hat then get Masaru to pick out a name, while Dru's watching so it's all legal, and let you know. I'll video tape it too so it's live and no one has any issues of me being bias or cheating.
I really appreciate all of you taking time out to read about my life and thoughts.
I also really appreciate, those of you who regularly comment on my posts. Some days you don't know what this does for me. So thanks.

Good luck and may the force be with you.

If you haven't already entered I guess you've got until Friday morning.
I'm excited.

QVC

Ok now Dru and I don't make it a habbit to watch QVC. Usually while we're flicking through channels, that's when we'll catch a glimpse of the QVC stuff. QVC is the channel commited to selling stuff all day, everyday. Just for those who don't know. So the other day I get a knock on the door and this UPS dude is there. And to my surprize he has a pakage for me, which I sign for. K8 was hanging out with us at the time so saw all the excitment and can vouch for how crazy it was when I brought it in.
The kids ripped it apart and there were enough pieces for all of them to have their own and they took off and raced around playing with them. It was so funny. Dru had ordered them as a surprize for me. We had been watching it, I know I know we're bored, and thought these were so cool and way cheap. We did nothing about it and then we were clicking through again and saw them AGAIN. It was meant to be man.
They're baking stuff. Here's everything you get in the pakage. Two rounds, one square, two mats one for the cookie sheet and one for the toaster oven, one loaf and one meat loaf and a muffin. The tray it goes on you can make stuff like peanut brittle on it and it comes right off, easy as. Then they neatly fold up into a nice pile which you can close the lid on and it's nice and tight and easy to store. LOL Listen to me LOL What a crack up.
They're silicone but they have metal around the outside so they stay stong when you go to pull them out. Plus red is my favourite colour. We've already made some muffins.
Don't worry K8 I'm getting to making you the meatloaf........promise!
Thanks Dru. Love you babe!!

Amazing

It really is amazing how people can do this kind of detail on such a small canvas! We had a GNO the other night at Michelle's place and had our toes done then I had a mate do my nails and then I did a facial too whilst eating chocolate and fruit! My face felt so good man. What a great night with great girls, who all have great toes now, well most of us, right Jade?!?

Monster Mash

The other night we found Masaru like this, walking around in his dad's jacket pretending he was a Monster and scaring us all. I thought it was pretty funny/cute.

YukiKO Meeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

These pretty much speak for themselves.
Yuki also dances like this on the floor, the side to side motion, and she'll do deep knee bends as well either by themselves or holding onto something infront of her.
Times like these make up for the hard times and reminds me of how cute she is and I fall in love with her all over again.

PS She just went to her 1 year old check up and she's 21lbs and 2oz 40th%tile, 18" head circ. 65th%tile and 30 1/2" which is the 80th %tile for her height.
The doctor said she's doing great and is a little ahead, and seems very healthy.

PPS I've honestly watched this video soooo many times and I still laugh so hard and outloud at her dancing. Then I discovered Masaru in the background and laughed even harder.
Man I have the best kids.

Masaru's first tag.........complete!

So Masaru got tagged by his friend Leah back in Bountiful. Since he's only three we did the best we could. I didn't help him at all. Well that's not completely true. I re-worded some questions so maybe he'd understand a little better. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. You'll see what I mean.
It was great, by the way, to ask Masaru these questions and to see what he'd come up with.
So here's goes..............

8 favourite TV shows

But if this helps I was born in Dunedin, NZ and lived in both Invercargill and Dunedin the same amount of time with my fam until they up and left to a little place called Aria with 12 houses and a pub/postoffice where wild Turkey's roamed, hey maybe this can be a memory!! But that didn't work so we moved to Tokoroa where my mum is right now. I however lived in Hamilton for many years before I went on the mish and then moved to UTAH!!
So what classifies as a home town? Any thoughts? Just for someone like me. Am I home townless?

Mabye you'll never hear from me again because I'm in an institution saying "Comment.....must.....comment..........must..........comment" If you don't like how I comment on EVERY SINGLE ONE of your posts let me know privately via email and I'll cut it down to when I only have something really good to say, sorry!!
V- Vegetarian or Oppressor of Animal: So I'm taking it the person who made this tag up is a vegitarian and an animal activist!!! I'd like to consider myself nice to animals whilst still eating meat. Is this possible?

Memory #1

So I figured if I'm gonna make this into a book then while I'm young and still have partial memory, I should start randomly, every now and then, writing down some memories from my childhood.
So here's memory #1.
This is my very first memory I can remember.
I was three years old and I remember playing at the park in my purple bikini in a pool at "Queens Park" with my cousins.
I remember we wanted to feed the ducks and so I was standing talking to my Auntie and breaking bits of bread into this paper bag, in this bikini.
Queens Park was awesome and we went there all the time. That's where the peacocks were and I remember standing by their cage and waiting and waiting and waiting with my bro's and sis for the males to feather up their tail. When they did we were so happy.
The females really are nothing to look at.
We ALWAYS fed the ducks. Always, and loved it.
I know it's nothing exciting, or funny, but it's the very first memory I have in my head.
I remember it was nice and warm too and the sun shining on me and how happy and content I was.
Thanks goodness for memories.

What's your favourite?

So now I've got my playlist going I was thinking about songs, obviously. I know most of you probably mute it while your reading my blog, but I love it and will have it playing throughout the day while I tidy and read all of your blogs!! My kids love it too cause I dance with them and often I'll look over and Yuki will be dancing to some of the songs as well, either in her highchair or just around the house. It's so fun. These are songs that make me feel good and when I hear them I wanna sing and dance. It's great.
I'm still trying to capture video footage of Yuki dancing and haven't been able to yet. So stay tuned.
So I was wondering what are YOUR favourite songs that make you wanna sing and dance and make you smile and feel good?
If you give me your ULTIMATE fav. that you just LOVE then I'll add it to MY playlist, cause, you know, I love you and appreciate you reading my blog, and I'm that kinda girl.

P.S The song 'Dreaming' by Scribe is a NZ artist who's really famous back there. He has some other songs that are just as good if not better. If your not into rap then it's not for you, but I just thought I'd let ya know. You could give it a shot, if you like!!

Narration of the first day of Pre-School. By Masaru Nakaya

So Masaru started pre-school today.
It's the local Head Start here. Since we have no money, Masaru qualifies for this pre-school programme paid for by the government. They give him lunch and an education for the price of 'free' and it's four days a week from 10:30am to 2pm.
Sounds pretty good aye?
We get there and I decided to stay for a bit to see the 'goings on' there. Then about half an hour into it Masaru said to me "Mum you need to go now"
So I said "ok" and Yuki and I left.
When I came to pick him up the teachers said "Do you know what this song is?" And they were doing their hands like the popcorn popping action. I said "Yeah that's the popcorn song" Well of course none of them had a clue what it was and I had to tell them the song.
They were trying to figure it out for ages they said and Masaru was getting frustrated with them. I told them I'd teach it to them tomorrow and bring the words for them. Maybe I'll do it for the kids tomorrow with Masaru.
What did I do with all that free time? I took Yuki to the park, then put her down to bed and then spent the next HOUR trying to find a dentist for Dru and I. Turns out dentists don't like us poor medicaid people.
I honestly called 20 different dentists here in Moscow. Then after getting nowhere on the internet I rang medicaid to find one and after 6 different numbers a machine told me of three dentists who'd see us.
So I called them and NONE were answering. So we still don't have a dentist.
Then I talked to my sister in law and that's it.
So much for reading a nice book, tidying the place up, scrapbooking, sewing, having some alone time to relax and meditate!!!
Plenty of time for all of that right!!
I'm really happy for Masaru but sad for me. I miss Masaru and love having him around me. He helps me a lot and is not a hassel. Now if I could get Yuki in Headstart...............that'd be a different story LOL. Jokes Yuki Jokes!!!
I'm just not ready for him to be away from me so much.
I still need to do so much with him before he's away from me more than he's with me. And this is just the beginning of the end. LOL
I know it's not that bad but I'm just not ready to let go man.
I'm pathetic!
I love him.
I'm really glad he had a great day today. I'm glad he's got a little friend 'Joey' and I'm glad this programme is free and we can be a part of it. It's really the only way I would've put him in pre-school.

Tis the Season

Masaru and I decided to make some Halloween cookies for our neighbours and missionaries. He helped make it and do the cut outs of the cookies. By the time we got to cooking them and taking them out etc he was done.
He obviously had eaten a 'faliure' one in this pic. since he has green all over his face. That night I went to sit in a missionary lesson. It's the first time in a long long time. It was really good and very interesting, since the new style. I hope I can help the Sisters out more. It was great.
Masaru and Yuki love the 'Mr Potatoe Head' Glasses. They alway try to fit them on, as if one that they'll actually fit.
Yuki brought them out to me and wanted to wear them. So I put them on her. She loved it. So Masaru got into it too.
She also loves wearing the 'saftey glasses' and 'construction hat' Masaru has but she wouldn't let me get a pic of her in it.
As you can see here she's wearing the little Halloween outfit I got her for her birthday. So cute!!!

Saving your kids life!!!

So we've got this awesome couple living next door to us, the Smith's. They're both nurses and Jason just got a job and the family are moving. We've only known them a few weeks but we're sad they're leaving.
But they're leaving to a bigger place, so that's alright, we understand!!!
Last night we had them around for dinner and they both told us some really important stuff that I thought I'd share with all of you.
If your child is choking and you can SEE the object, then you can do the sweep with your finger. This is taking your finger and running it along the cheek and down the throat to pop the object out.
However if you CAN'T see the object you need to do the following.
If the child is one and UNDER you hold them flat on you arm with the child facing down. So the child's tummy is on your forearm and they're facing the floor on a downward angle with their legs straddling your forearm. Then you basically hit the child with the bottom part of your palm in the middle of their back around 5 times or until the object is OUT.
I asked "Won't that hurt the child?" Jason said "Maybe, but rather have them have a hurt rib or back and be alive then not do anything at all"
They said you need to be doing this as well and reaching for the phone and calling 911.
You acting straight away could be the difference between your kid being ok and damaged in the brain.
In the case that your child stops breathing then you need to start CPR.
With a child under one this means flipping them over on your forearm and giving two fingered compressions on the centre of their chest 30 times then giving them 2 breaths.
Check to see if you can see the object, if not, keep doing CPR on the child until paramedics are there.
On a child Masaru's age or over one you do the Heimlich maneuver.
  • Kneel or stand firmly behind him and wrap your arms around him so that your hands are in front.
  • Make a fist with one hand.
  • Put the thumb side of your fist slightly above the navel (belly button) and well below the breastbone.
  • Grasp the fist with your other hand and give quick upward thrusts into his abdomen.
  • Give thrusts until the object is forced out and he can breathe, cough, or talk or until he stops responding. If the child stops responding then you start CPR. This means putting the child flat on the floor making sure the airway is open. Jason said to make sure you don't put the childs head too far back cause you can block the airway that way as well. Just far enough back to open it. Then you do the two breaths and the 30 compressions while trying to get to the phone and calling 911. They said EVERYONE should do a course and get trained and re-new their training all the time since we can make such a difference.
  • He said with an adult to call 911 FIRST then start with the CPR. But with a child you start the CPR FIRST while trying to ring 911.
  • Brittanie said that the hospitals have little cards they hand out that you can get and put on your fridge so you're always looking at it and reminding yourself. I got a bit of this info. from this link. So just thought I'd share. I found it very interesting.
  • For pic's, if your like me and need a visual I found this for kids over one and found this for kids under one.
  • Hope this helps someone cause it sure as hell helped me!!!

    Kids

I haven't posted pic's of the kids in a little while. You know, talking about me and my problems take up so much time.
So here's a couple of pic's of my kids.
We've got Yuki here with her milk face.
We've got Masaru with the cheapest horses in town. Yet all the children who we got them for at the party LOVED them. Go figure. I should just do my Christmas shopping, for the kids at the Dollar Tree.
I just cut his fringe 'bangs' the other day. Wouldn't even know it would you.
We have Yuki, once more. Looking all sweet and innocent, hair everywhere. She probably just finished pulling her ribbon out!!!
And we have Masaru, after a hard days work, you know going to church, eating, playing, all the tough things in a 3 year olds life.
    I love my kids.
It's hard, and I try to do better and be better for them. It's an uphill battle man.
Every night, no jokes, I'm thinking about what I could've done better that day with them and how I"m going to improve tomorrow. You'd think I'd be much better than what I am.
I hope they know I love them as much as I do.
They make me a better person.
