Last random post of the day

So here's my kids class pictures.  I wish they'd simply give you a digital copy.  What am I suppose to do with these hard copies?  Give them to the kids I guess.  Here's Masaru looking good in the back there.  Always in the back, cause he's always the tallest.
He just informed me, however, that there's a new kid that just moved in who's taller than him, so he's lost his 'tallest' kid status after almost 5 years straight!!!  All good things come to an end buddy!!
Here's Yuki looking beautiful as always.  Her piano teacher looked at the picture and said "Gosh Yuki just stands out as the most beautiful doesn't she?"
This is what I'm trying to tell the world, but no one really listens, and that's alright.
And speaking of beautiful, here's Takeshi with his mowhawk keeping it real in his K class.
Then onto some more beautiful news, my blog book turned up and I couldn't be happier.
It looks great and I'm glad I have it.
The good thing about this website is that it keeps copies of my books, so when the kids grow up, if they would like their OWN copy, they can simply get onto the website and order their own copy of the books.
This is what it's all about people.  Love blogging, and love blurb.
I always keep it simple, no frills, no fuss, just simple pages with the basic's.  That sums me up nicely I think.

So that's the latest and greatest for us.

I'd like to also announce that NZ made history last night/early this morning, by beating South Africa in their cricket game, which gets them into the World cup cricket finals!!!!
I couldn't be more proud of NZ.  It's their very first time and it's awesome.  The whole country is breathing cricket and this Saturday they'll play either Aussie or India in the finals.
They've yet to lose a game this whole world cup.  Rockstars man.
They're also rugby world champs and League world champs and probably a few more.  Just goes to show what 4 million kiwi's can do around the world!!!  We don't have as much $$ and people but the ones we've got are amazing, and it's proven again and again over these last 3 to 4 years.  Loving it.
Go blackcaps!!!!!  (that's their team name)

Masaru's show

Masaru had a 4th grade musical show, the other day that Emiko and I attended.  It was cute.  Masaru was happy we were there.  That morning he was rushing around, trying to figure out what to wear for it.  I think it turned out well.  I'm sorry we don't own a cowboy hat.  Maybe I should purchase one!!!
Anyway I'm glad I could be a part of it.  The kids were great and tried their best.
Here's some video's of the singing and dancing.

 Pretty cute right?
Doesn't he just looked so pumped to be doing it?  Hahahaha
He really was excited to do it.  I'm proud of him.
Love you bub.

Random

I thought this was a pretty cute invention by Yuki.
This, usually ugly, tree/bush/who knows in our back yard, is looking the most beautiful I've ever seen it.  Look what some pretty blossoms can do to an ugly ducking of a tree............make it something to sit and look at from the dinning room table.  That's what!!!
We've considered chopping it down, but I find it a tough battle to chop down something that is alive and minding it's own business.  Now it's proven how beautiful it can be, I can't chop it down.  It saved it's own life this spring.
And just for my own personal journalling, I received my very first, legitimate crown the other day while I was mt biking by myself.
It was my first solo ride of the year.  I love solo rides, cause it's just you and your music, up in the foothills, living the dream.  Don't get me wrong now, I love my team, but sometimes it's nice to just be out on your own.  Plus it totally paid off, Queen of the Mountain, for that section.  I'm not gonna lie, it felt good to see that crown on my strava feed.
It also was nice because the day before I hurt someone and felt really bad.  I clipped a guys handlebars and hurt his hand I think.  So I need to be more careful.
For this ride I asked this sweet couple if they could get out of my way while I tried to better my own time.  They said 'yes' and I got a crown.  So thank you random old people on the foothills, for helping my dreams come true, one DH at a time!!!

I know most of you think I'm mental, and that's ok, cause I'll admit to it, but I love mt biking so much so, that's it's made me mental for it.  Ask Dru man, he'll roll his eyes, but he's secretly proud of his awesome wife and every trophy and this crown!!

My girls

So potty training this girl has been wonderful.  I can't even believe it.
So the first couple of days she had no interest and didn't attempt to go, even once, on the potty.
I was also taking this training thing a little differently this go around.
I actually wasn't even planning on training her until maybe May or, at least, when her nappies ran out.  But, on a whim, I just put her in her supergirl undies and we figured we'd try.
I WAS going to just put her in undies every night, and when she had an accident the next day, put her back in a nappy the rest of the day.  I figured it'd help with my sanity.  But then she started saying "Oh I need a nappy now, I peed my undies" and I started realizing that I had to go the full hog, or she'd use her nappies as a crutch.  So I had to mentally prep myself for accidents.  Was I ready to go the full way?  I spent some time contemplating if I really wanted to do this.  I figured I'd started and had better keep going, so I did.
It was kinda silly, cause now I have all these size 4 nappies hanging around, doing nothing.  They're expensive and I can't exactly give them to a newborn, like you'd normally do, as a gift you know!!  "Oh here's some size 4 nappies, for around 2 years from now" hahahahaha
But who's gonna buy size 4 nappies online from some stranger?
So, I'm gonna give them to my mate, even though her daughter is still in a 3!!!  It's always nice to have some on hand for babysitting other people's kids, however, so that's, at lease, something right?  I'll keep a couple for that.
So the second or third day she finally peed on the potty.  It was magical.
I must preface this with, that morning I was crying, because of stress and a combination of things and asked Emiko if she'd PLEASE do pees in the potty.
That day, she peed in the potty twice!!  Little bit of guilt worked I guess.  I feel semi bad about that, but hey man, she peed, and I knew if she could just pee ONCE on the potty, that'd be a huge leap in the right direction.  She pooped in her undies, but I didn't even care.  What child gets poop the VERY FIRST time?  And I was still on a high from her making it to the toilet earlier on that day.
The NEXT day, however, she pooped twice.  Once in the toilet here, and once in the toilet at Yuki's soccer game with Dru.  Can you believe that?  Rockstar man.
Anyway it's been about 10 days and she's, pretty much, there.  She had a poop accident the other day, but I don't mind.  I know she's on the right track to getting it.  I can't believe my luck and am very grateful, so far, for her progress.  I don't wanna hope too much, incase there's backsliding, but so far, so good man.
She's been in undies at night, and has NEVER peed the bed, not even once.  Pretty awesome right?
So she got an Olaf 'piggie bank' and I found a supergirl waterbottle.  I mean what are the chances right?  Love it.  She gets a sticker and a little chocolate chip and when she's earned 12 stickers, she gets 25c for her piggie bank.  She wants money like the other kids and so this is a perfect way to get her some.  So far, she loves it, and that's great.

Then, last weekend, we were hanging out at our Dentist's place, ironically, and Yuki lost her tooth in his backyard and couldn't find it again.  She wanted to write the toothfairy a note to explain the loss, however, and here it is.
So cute man.  I love it.  She woke up the next day and ran in with a silver dollar!!  She was really happy and so were we.
I'm not sure if she really does believe or not, but it's fine.  I don't even know if Masaru really believes or not you know.  They've never said anything, but who really knows, as if they'd tell us right?

I've got some pretty good girls in my life, that's for sure.  They look after each other, and are really great friends.  They talk and talk at nights, in bed, together.  I can hear them.  It's mostly pretty cute.  It's how my sister and I became close.  I'm glad they're close.  I really hope that they can remain close with each other over the years, and be there for each other.  It could go either way I guess.  Time will tell.

The weather is still perfect in Boise, so far.  It's nice to be able to get outside and not freeze you know.  There are blossoms out and green is starting to grow.  The foothills are the most beautiful this time of year.  I'm looking forward to seeing all the wildflowers and greenery while mountain biking over the next few weeks.  Last year, on some trails, I'd stop and just stare at how beautiful things looked.  I need to remember to do the same thing this year and just inhale it all and slow down.

St Patrick's Day

So yesterday was awesome for a few reasons.
I was going to swap with my mate for exersize.  She texted me early that morning and said her child was throwing up and she was taking him to the doctors.
Bummer.
So I scrambled and pulled together all the favours I could ask for from around 5 different people and found 2 to help me out, last minute, with my children.  I was SO grateful cause I'd planned a major ride with my homie Jobecka and without Cesha and Rachelle I would've had to cancel it and that would've been truly sad since it was one of the best rides I've experienced to date!!
So I made sure I showered Rachelle and Cesha with flowers and said my thankyou's and packed a big lunch for my children (which Takeshi at the WHOLE OF!!  That kid can eat) and then Jobecka and I headed out to the foothills for our ride.
I'd never packed my bag so heavy. I filled it almost all the way up with water and packed myself some food to eat halfway through the ride for stamina.
A lot of it was up hill.  But it was totally worth it for the down.
Jobecka is a machine on the uphill.  I'm in awe of her man.  I'm trying to keep up, which is good for me, but the reality is, is she's just too good and will just get better and better while I huff and puff and watch her get smaller and smaller on the uphills the further she gets away from me, as she crushes it and I simple try to survive it.
I'm glad she let's me go with her.
Here we are, ready to start a new trail.  It's usually pretty sandy and motocross guys ride it, but with all this rain we've gotten we thought, there was no time like the present, to give it a good go, and I'm really glad we did.  It was SO MUCH FUN.  The down hill was AMAZING, to say the least.  The DH gives me this rush like nothing else man.  I didn't know what the trail was and so just bombed it (bombed it by my standards) down.  I came to this steep rocky/sandy part and I was going down and thought to myself "You've got two choices Milz, #1 break and crash cause you're bike washes out OR #2 go for it and probably crash but maybe not crash and totally rock it
I opted for option #2 and DIDN'T CRASH and totally rocked it.
Man I felt so good.
I love this picture of Jobecka and I.
I'm grateful for her.
So here's my strava feed.  Most of you won't care about this.  But this is a big deal to me, and this is my journal, so up it goes.
Almost 21 miles and almost 3000 feet vertical up.  2 and a half hours and almost 800 calories burned.  I love it.
I can't believe I got a trophy on an uphill.  It helps only 8 or 10 women have ever strava'd it I guess right? ;)
Gut check is SUPER hard for me.  I stopped 3 times, but Jobecka powered up it and waited for me at the top.
We were gonna do something different, but opted out and moved forward with another route.
I can't believe on my FIRST try of this trail I totally trophy'd on the DH sections out of 30 women!!  It was so much fun man.  You like the names of those sections?  LOL
Then this next section, sidewinder Red Cliffs was the MOST fun I've had in a long time on the DH.  So much so that about 3/4 of the way through I just yelled out 'WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO' to absolutely nobody cause I was having so much fun.  I've never done that before cause it's kinda weird, but I was so happy and having so much fun I couldn't help it.
I felt so good going down these sections and it paid off.  I got my best times.
These sections are out of 100 and 200 women!!  A little more legit.  I wanna get the crown so bad.  One day maybe.  For now, this will do.  If you come first you get called QOM (Queen of the Mountain)  I'm getting it for THIS YEAR, but I'd like to get it for THE WHOLE TIME EVER!!!
It's good to have goals right?
If there's one thing I've learned, it's that there's always someone better than you out there, which is good, it gives you motivation.  I love it, it pushes me.
At the end of that DH section, I waited for Jo and then we laughed and talked about how awesome that was, on the last section of the trail.  We could've turned around and climbed back up a hill to our car, but we opted to save our legs and ride the road back to our car.
Loved it.

Emiko made two posters and a cake and had the time of her life with Cesha.  She's a better mother to Emiko than I am hahaha ;)  She's so good with Emiko man.  They have so much fun together.  I really appreciate Cesha.  I love her.
Then I went and picked up Takeshi from Rachelle's and they were running around like mad men having the time of their lives as well.  Thanks Rachelle xx

I came home and checked on my corn-beef (silverside) in the crocpot.  It was looking good man.
We had corn-beef and cabbage, potatoes and carrots for dinner.  Dru had rung his brother (master chef) the night before to get some last minute details of making a good corn-beef.  I'm glad he did, cause I was going to do it differently.  It worked out great this way.  Thanks Ryan.
Masaru had scouts, Dru had gone for his own mt bike ride and the kids and I watched a movie together.
All of a sudden, a little earlier than I'd thought, Dru comes in and I see blood.  He'd crashed and pretty good.
I asked if he was ok and he told me to take pictures.  Crack up.  It hurt though.

This elbow one, probably needs stitches, but Dru doesn't want any.  Anyone good with a needle and wanna come over and sew that bad boy up for us?
He was hauling and his front tire washed out on the DH and just skidded down on the sand/gravel.  He has a huge rash on the side of his butt and upper shoulder too, but I opted to not put those out there in the public forum.  I dunno how Dru would feel about that.
I did, however, text it to his mt biking buddies.  They were all impressed/hurting for him.  I love our mates.
Here's the worst of all though.  Check out his work phone!  He's hoping they'll replace it. We'll see.  Poor phone.  It's still 'working' though.  I can't even believe it.
So we put the kids to bed and had prayers, then I tended to Dru's wounds for the rest of the night and we jumped into bed and watched a little TV.
I guess it wasn't the best day for Dru, but for me it was one of the better days I've had in a while.
Love my life.

FHE

So tonight for FHE (family home evening) we did a lesson about St Patrick's day.  We talked about luck vs blessings from the Lord.
There was a bit of talk about Leprechauns and how we can catch and see them, then we reigned it in and talked about what our blessings are and watched the video of Jesus talking about the beatitudes with the people.
We then each shared a moment where we received a tender mercy from the Lord.
Emiko was a wash.
Takeshi said that when he prayed at night he wasn't scared anymore.
Yuki said that one night when she was scared, I came in and had a prayer with her, then she felt good inside for the rest of the night and slept great.
Masaru shared when he was back in kindergarten and was so scared to leave me, there was a boy from church that told him to sit by him, and it helped him to be brave.
Dru shared about a dream he had about one of his BFF's, Pugs, and how he knew he needed to call him, and then he did and Pugs was super grateful for the call because he was feeling down.
Then I went last.
It was pretty, funny/spiritual/sad all at the same time.
I shared about my experience with reading my Dad's journals and how I needed comfort.
I shared this on a previous blog.  Here are my words:

'I went to bed and checked on the kids(as you do) and Masaru was awake, he immediately said "Mum, what's wrong, I heard you crying really bad for a long time, are you ok?"  I felt really bad that he heard all of that and told him "I'm ok bub, I was just reading my Dad's last journal"  That was enough for Masaru, he knew and knows how hard that is for me and he left it at that and simply said "I hope you have a really good sleep mum and can be comforted.  I love you.  Can I have a kiss and a hug?"'

So by the time I'd finished this part of my story everyone was crying.  Then Emiko looked around and started crying, she didn't know why, all she knew is everyone was crying and so it made her cry.  Then we all broke out into laughter cause it was so funny and Emiko was so cute and beautiful with her feelings you know.  It was a nice intermission for the next part of my tender mercy which I also blogged about, which goes as follows:

'I continue to ask the Lord if I can see Dad.  I just wanna see him.  But it's not my time right now I guess.  The Tuesday night I was crying and pleading with the Lord to let me see him or at least feel that he's ok.
The next day I was getting the kids breakfast and Yuki (who's never done this before at breakfast) said 'Mum can we sing a primary song?'  I thought that was a little strange but said 'Sure'  She chose the song 'Families can be together forever'  This song was Dad's favourite primary song.  I remember him singing it all the time.  That song has been hard for me to sing/hear since Dad's death.
So I sang it with Yuki and used all of my control not to simply break down right there and then in the middle of the kitchen.
I know Dad  was there.  I know he told Yuki to tell me to sing it.  I know he wanted me to know that families are forever, he's fine and keep on fighting the good fight and he'll see me soon.'

So after I shared that part, we were all back crying again and hugging each other.  Dru looked at me and smiled.  My poor kids man.  Do you think I'm damaging them?  Hahahahaha
Anyway after we all had a good cry I told them we were making green shamrock shakes for our treat and we all brightened up again and listened to some classic jazz while talking and drinking our thick shake.
It was a good night and so I just figured I needed to record it down.

On a couple of side notes, I got my blog book done today.  Blurb had a 30% off coupon and so it was just the kick in the pants I needed to get it finished and ordered.  I'm happy that's done.

Also Emiko had zero accidents today.  This is for another post but she's a rockstar man.  Honestly, as easy as Takeshi, but I don't wanna jinx it man so I'll just tell this cute story.
This might be TMI but all mother's can relate so I'll forge through and just be honest with the story.
I was peeing on the toilet, and it was the same toilet as the one Emiko uses.  I usually pee on the toilet in my room, I always have an audience, but it's usually in my room.  Anyway Emiko comes in and sees me and says the following:
E: Mum did you just do pees in the potty? (huge smile on her face with astonished eyes)
M: Yip
E: Wow mum that is so awesome. (big smile on her face, comes in and hugs me) You did pees in the potty.  Good job mum.  Takeshi guess what?  Mum just did pees in the potty.  Isn't that so awesome?
M: (laughing hysterically)

I guess she's taken all that positive energy that's been thrown her way about peeing on the potty and celebrates all pees now.  Pretty cute man.  Maybe you had to be there.  But it was funny.

Bits and pieces

So here's some of Yuki's latest school work.  I feel the same way about the rain.  We don't get much in Boise, so I've got no idea where Yuki gets these ideas from, apart from the fact that she might've overheard me?  Or maybe she really likes the rain?  I love the lightning as well.  Brisbane had the best lightning.
I love how I'm just sitting there watching everyone having fun.  Who's driving the boat while Dad is boating?  That's what I wanna know.
 Learning about Jefferson I think.
 I like this picture.
It's true, we do roast marshmallows and have tons of fun camping.
For the life of me these pictures won't flip around.  Oh well.  Look how cute all her birds are.
Here's her project she did about cranes as well.  I thought it was a great job.
Hansel and Gretel story.  Here's the witches house.
 I love kid pictures man.
It's a bit of a crazy story isn't it?  I hope she doesn't get nightmare's.  Maybe she'll be ok cause she thinks Masaru will prtete her? hahaha
Then she learned about the Pied Piper.  This is another story that I hope she doesn't get nightmare's from.  I'm grateful she being taught them though.  I was brought up with these stories.  Actually I remember a play that I witnessed and my father was the Pied Piper and mum had made him his outfit and it was awesome.  I remember liking it.

I can't get these turned around, so it is what it is I guess.  It's for the blog book so she can look back and see what she's done anyway.  This also reminds me that I need to do a blog book for last year still.
I think that's gross as well.  I don't remember that part of the story.

Then Takeshi came home, quite proud of making this little Japanese woman.  He's using it now for a bookmark.
He also informed me that he wanted his hair spiked up for his classroom picture.  I told him that was fine and used a bunch of stuff to try to keep it up the best I could.  He needs a hair cut, but I can't be bothered taking him in.
I love that he has his own style and likes to do things and isn't pushed by any peer pressure just yet.  He's his own person and he loves it.  It's always refreshing.
Then on Thursday night and Sunday night we had our friends from Moscow coming through from Seattle for a wedding.
They asked if they could stay the night on the way down and back.  Of course we said yes, and so for a couple of nights there was 12 of us in a 1250square foot house.  It was fun to catch up and see each other.  I'm glad they came and we could see each others kids and talk and talk.
She came to hot yoga with us on the Friday morning and says she liked it, but I dunno man.  I hope she really did hahaha
Thanks for being with us Grossman's!!!!  Love you guys.

Then I had a talk to Emiko about potty training.  She told me she'd pee on the potty if she had supergirl undies and frozen undies.
Frozen undies are easy peasy but supergirl undies?  I looked them up online and found nothing apart from some (ahem) adult undies that I quickly clicked off of.
Then I figured it was a lost cause and talked her outt've the supergirl undies.  Then I went to Target for the 3rd time since living here in Boise and GUESS WHAT I FOUND just hanging there minding their own business..................SUPERGIRL UNDIES.  Man I couldn't even believe it.  I was so happy and had no one to share it with.  I wanted to jump up and down and do a fistpump, so just texted Dru and Nat to tell them the good news hahahahahaha
I mean how perfect are these undies right?  I'm so grateful for whoever did this.  So perfect.  Thanks Target.

So the first day she didn't go in the toilet once but I saw a glimmer of hope so just tried not to cry.
She's never peed the bed once this week which is amazing!!  Maybe she's not a bed peeer?  We'll see.  So far so good with nighttimes.
Anyway the second day she peed in the toilet TWICE and I could've kissed her little bum I was so excited (I didn't by the way).
I dunno how many of you have potty trained out there, and most of you probably have easy breezy stories that I don't wanna hear about thanks, but I HATE potty training with a passion.  This is my 4th time doing it and I STILL don't know what I'm doing and STILL hate it and STILL realize that it's got hardly nothing to do with me and everything to do with the child.
She was playing outside and pooped in her undies but I didn't even care.  As if she was going to get poop on the potty her first try............yeah right..................so I just cleaned them and we talked about her going on the toilet next time.
She's trying hard.  I've only had 2 break downs in three days, so that's alright for me I think hahahaha
We're taking it day by day and hoping for the best.
That's all I have to say.

Takeshi doing the windmill

So my kids are obsessed with watching Maroon 5's song 'sugar' because of the video.  Maroon 5 go around and hit a few weddings this one day and surprize the wedding party with singing to them.  It's pretty cool.
Anyway Takeshi showed me his favourite part and it's at 4:03 on the video where the guy is doing a breakdance move called the 'windmill'
Go ahead, move the curser to 4:03 and check it out for a second....................I'll wait, then we can move forward with this post.

Ok so did you check it out?  Cause if you didn't, this isn't going to be as funny........................

Ok, let's move on.
So Takeshi REALLY wants to be able to do that move. So here's his first attempt.

I told him it can only go up from here hahahahaha
Good job buddy, if anyone can learn how to do this, it's you man.
Gotta love this kids positive attitude man.  Loving it.

Masaru's birthday

So my sister in law told me, a while back, that she let's her children have the day off of school for their birthdays and let's them do whatever they want.  I liked that idea so threw it out to the kids.  They all liked that idea.  Masaru started planning way back then.
I asked him if he didn't want to go to school for half a day, he said no.  I figured maybe they might do something special for him?  I guess he didn't care.  He was staying home.
He got up and I let him open a present from Jobecka.  She'd given him an itunes gift card and minecraft book.  He hasn't got the app and has been asking me for it.  I've always said no because it's $7 for a stupid game!!!  There was no way I was paying that.  But Jobecka wanted to do it and who am I to stop progress right?
Masaru opened it and jumped in the air with a fist pump and said "Yuesssssssssssss" and I proceeded to download it while he rang her and said thanks.
He then played on the ipad for a while, while I rushed around like a mad woman, trying to make his day special.
He'd wanted a pina colada cake.  I'm telling you man, I'm going to be making this cake until the day I die.  It's Dru's, and now, it's Masaru's, favourite cake!  I had to get some ingredients, as it has things you don't normally have in your cupboards.
So he played his mindcraft game while I shopped frantically.
I came home, made the cake, quickly showered, dropped Emiko off at Natalie's place (thanks Nat) organized Takeshi to go to Jobecka's place when he was done with Kindergarten (thanks Jo) and then we headed into town to meet Dru for lunch (Masaru's request)
We gave him options for lunch and he chose MacDonald's.  Dru and I were gutted, but kept our mouths shut cause it was his birthday.  I don't like MacDonald's that much, especially if Chic fil a is an option!!
We sat and ate together while Masaru danced between talking to us and playing on the playground for an hour.
He then wanted to go see 'Paddington' at the movies.  It was playing at 12:25pm and so we opted for that one.
We were the only ones in the movie theater and it was awesome.  We could talk and laugh as loud as we wanted and exchanged thoughts throughout the movie.
I recommend it.  It was so cute and I laughed so much I cried in one part.  Such a wonderful movie.  I'm looking forward to the other kids seeing it.  He's a cute bear and one I was brought up with as a child.  Cute, cute.  I'm glad Masaru liked it.  He had a great time.
By the time we got out and dropped Dru back at work, I'd remembered I'd needed to shop for some eggs and Masaru had been begging to go to the library for a week.  So I dropped him off, quickly got some eggs, then picked him up again!!
I quickly then picked up my children from my mates places.  Emiko had been given to my other friend, Sarah, for part of the afternoon.  What would I do without great mates?  Life would be that much harder, that's for sure.
We made it home and I went to work making the cake, tidying the house, getting homework done etc.
I started to get really exhausted, to the point where I asked Masaru to help me sweep the floor.  He started to complain, saying it was his birthday, and I really tried hard to make it HIS day you know, but I was stressed, tired, frustrated and over it.
Bad right?
So he swept while I tried to keep it together.
He had a couple of friends coming over for dinner and so I wanted to get things done so I could at least take a few pictures.
Dru came home and started on making the crepes for dinner.  Turns out it's not a very great dinner for a large group.  We needed to have about 3 pans going at once, but Dru makes them so well, that I can't copy it, so don't try.
He slowly made crepe after crepe while I let Masaru open his presents.

He got these awesome badges from his Auntie Jessie in NZ.  It helps out a ton cause he just got a new backpack.  He loved his last one but it was getting too small for all his stuff.  So I found him this one, but it was boring black and his other one stood out so much, so having these on his bag, sets it apart from his friends, as no one has these.

Cool game from his mate, Josh.
 Grandma and Grandpa Pete's gift.

Nerf gun with 2 clips.  It's pretty awesome.

He loves it.  Thanks mum.

 Gift from Dad.

Wii game he's wanted for months and months.  Thanks Dad!!

Dad also got him this intense Samurai book.  It's a page by page detail of everything you'd wanna know.

Lego's from Piper.  Always a hit.
And another lego set from his mother.  Just the one he wanted.
He stayed up late in the night, putting this together.  I don't know how he does it to tell you the truth.  He should be REALLY tired considering how early he got up, but I guess legos pump enough adrenalin into his body to keep him going till the projects done.
By the time he'd finished opening his presents Dru had made enough crepes to, at least, get the kids started.
I didn't feel like just having crepes for dinner, so I made myself some roasted butternut squash and a yummy salad.
No one else wanted the salad though, and so I shared it with my neighbours and another friend.  They appreciated my efforts hahaha
Doesn't that look so yummy?
Anyway the kids ate and played Masaru's new wii game and had some fun.
I then decided to bring out the cake.

We sang him happy birthday and ate cake.

We then had the pinata.  No pictures, then it was time for his friends to go home.  Masaru turned the wii game back on and they played till their parents came.
What a great day for him.
I was secretly glad it was over.  I was happy he had the perfect day, but it was a lot of work for me.  It's nice birthdays are only once a year.
I can't believe my boy is 10.  Double digits now.  I'm old enough, I know this, but it just seems amazing that my eldest is 10.  Where's the time gone?  I'm not sure.  But it's been great having Masaru in my life.
I'm glad he's in our family and I'm grateful for his help and love.  He's so awesome.  I love him.
He's good to me and I know it.
Happy birthday bud, I hope it was everything you wanted.
Love you forever
