I got my knees sunburnt today. It really hurts.
It's kind've a weird place to get sunburnt, cause no where else is sunburnt, just my knees.
Where's the weirdest place you've been sunburnt?
Anyone got any aloe?

The perfect 9 year shot
D"I don't wanna do pictures"
M"Come on babe, I take them every year, we can't break tradition"
D"Alright"
D (Laughing once he sees the shot)
M"Your probably tired"
D"Of course I'm tired"
M"Let me try and get another one, sit up straighter, maybe that'll help your bags"
D (laughing) "Sitting up straighter is gonna help my bags? Come on Melissa"
D"Nobody wants to see us kissing, I don't wanna see other people kissing, why would people wanna see us kissing?"
M(laughing) "What kinda face is that?"
D"Look at your nostril man, IT'S HUGE"
M"Be quiet, I didn't even notice it till you brought it up, thanks a lot"
D (laughing)
M"Oh sorry"
D"Well you don't have to be RIGHT apart and put your face down, you're always looking up"
M"It's helps with my double chin man"
D"You always look slightly up, like our whole marriage"
M"I have?"
D"Yep"
D"Nope"
D"A little, I think we have our shot, look it's nice of both of us"
M"Yeah I think this is a good one. What do you love most about me babe after all this time?"
D"I like how you make me laugh all the time, I love your humour, you're always fun to be around"
M"Awww thanks babe, I'm ALWAYS fun to be around?"
D"Ok well ALMOST always, when you're not in a mood"
M (laughing) "Thanks babe"
D"What do you love the most about me?"
M"I love how much you love me, and let me be myself, no pressure, just acceptance"
D"Awwwwwwww thanks babe"

What a year.........
He's only one and doesn't know what's going on, and doesn't really care, so I joined forces with my sister in law, who's daughter turned 4 the day before on the 26th.
They had a water party. The kids LOVED it.
Here's the cake I did for him.
If I put on a baby einstein movie when he's grumpy it gives me 20 mins of peace while making dinner.
He just loves it.
Hence the reason I did this as his first cake.
Masaru gave up on it at 4 months and Yuki never started, she sucked her thumb in the womb!
I'm not quite sure what to do about it really.
Maybe let him keep it till he's two right?
There were no plates so I put it on the grass.
Everyone thought that was gross except me.
He never got to the part of the cake that was actually TOUCHING the grass!
He just ate cake.
This first year with Takeshi has been mixed.
I've always loved him, no question, and thought he was just wonderful.
But the number three was a tough one for me.
After Takeshi I made huge changes in my life, for the better, and it's stuck.
I have his presence in the family to thank for that.
He's really patient with me, when he needs to eat he lets me get the others set up and then I'll feed him and he doesn't moan about it.
He loves his siblings. They can make him really smile and laugh like no one else.
He loves me as much as Dru, sometimes he prefers me over Dru, I almost faint!
He's got the biggest smile and at the moment is doing a super smile where he scrunches up his whole face, it's pretty cute. I need to try and get a shot of it.
He's not close to walking but I don't care, he's hitting his milestones the latest out of all my kids and it's just fine by me.
He'll do stuff in his own time and do well in it.
I'm so glad he's got dark hair and dark eyes! My only kid that Dru can be holding and people think it's his kid, for once!
I think he's pretty cute man, perfect features, from his hair, to his beautiful eyes, to his button nose and perfect little mouth.
I think he's flawless.
Hey, I'm his mother!!
I'm glad he's a part of the family. He's a great addition.
I think he's going to be animated and fun.
He's half way between Masaru and Yuki for needing attention, which works out fine.
I can't believe the year has already passed, but I'm looking forward to watching him grow to a 2 year old.
I love him!
Thanks for a great first year bub, and making me a better mother!!
Love you forever!!

Rest and relax baby!!
It was awesome.
We had good food, with good mates and a good time.
Here's some of the food, held by our mate Pugs.
Man they were so good.
We had great breakfasts and lunches.
Today we just skipped lunch altogether, and did a breakfast and dinner.
It was a good way to do it.
#1 How to knit in the round
#2 How to cable knit
She's so talented, it's not even funny. She's also a perfectionist, which is why everything she makes, looks so good.
I don't know why, but I always think I can just wing it and it'll turn out alright.
I wonder if I'll ever change in that area?
We didn't even get into the yummy middle part.
Pity.
It's for a new born, so it wasn't a big project, thank goodness.
I'm pretty happy with it for a first attempt.
There's lots of room for improvement, but we all start somewhere right?
We had a fun weekend and the kids had a blast.
Yuki got a mild concussion and threw up twice, while Dru was at a boys night out from 5 till 11pm.
I was so worried and called the hospital and they wouldn't give me ANY advice because of legal issues.
I was so frustrated. I understand why they do it but I was desperate for some advice.
Then Dru's brother rang me back and between him and his wife, gave me great advice! (Thanks guys)
Turns out she's ok but it was a little scary for a while.
Today Masaru hung out outside in his PJ's all day just playing with water and plants, weeds etc making 'healthy' drinks for all of us as well as 'healthy' lunches.
It was really cute.
I got most of my book read, probably gained 5 pounds and had a wonderful time.
Thanks Davis family, we love you guys, you know how to throw a great weekend!!

All for $3
I went to look at the parade floats out at the Expo Center and invited him to come with me and the other two.
I told him it'd be awesome, but he declined saying that he'd rather work with Dad.
Guess what the FIRST FLOAT WE SAW was?
That's right A MASSIVE PIG!!
Oh well.
I guess it takes this kinda face to haul heavy stuff.
He said "Yeah, pretty much"
Then I said "Has he complained at all?"
He goes "Not once"
He's a product of his father that's for sure.
I'd sure be complaining about 90 degrees and dirt work all day.
His Grandfather gave him $3 for his hard labour.
And guess where that $3 went?
You got it, my hot little hands for a certain swim lesson that was 'purposefully' missed on Friday.
I could tell he was pretty upset, but he took it like the man he is and didn't complain, just handed it over straight away.
It was like from his Grandad's hand to his for 3 seconds then to mine.
The minute I asked him how much he'd gotten he just passed it over to me with a face that I will not interpret for the public here on this blog.
He doesn't do the work for the money though. He doesn't even ask about it, ever, it's just a nice surprise.
I don't want him to get used to being paid to help out his family you know. I struggle between him just doing stuff to help family out, like he should, and letting them pay him.
Still not sure about the balance with that one.
At least he doesn't care about money much however.
He's got a little stash in his wallet and hasn't even spent it, or even asked!!
His Grandmother told me today that he also helped mop the kitchen floor the other day and went over it twice and did a really good job.
He didn't get paid for that, which is good.
He should be helping Grandma out of the goodness of his heart!
He's a good kid.
I know I got a good kid.
I love him.
Even if he does give me dirty looks when I take his hard earned cash.
