Dry

The pull-up was dry in the morning, turns out it was unnecessary-but still happy about my decision to make him wear. Down and pee don't seem like a good mix!

Fathers & Sons

My first Fathers and Sons outing as a father. I think the trip was a success, Masaru had the time of his life and didn't want to leave. We were taking the boat out when we got home from fathers and sons and I think thats the only reason he agreed to get in the truck! We took his bike to the outing and he rode it all over the place. He wiped out once and got some road rash on his elbow. I was impressed that he only crashed once considering how bumping and how fast he was riding his bike.
We took the tent, Masaru loved sleeping in the tent! And for whatever reason I had the worst sleep in 2009! Masaru woke up in the middle of the night, probably from being over tired. I figured he had to go pee, but he refused. So I made him put on a pull up because I didn't want him peeing in my goose down sleeping bag! Again, he refused. But with a little muscle I was able to force one on him and he finally calmed down and went to sleep.
In the morning Todd and Ryan said, "was that Masaru last night?" I said, "you betcha!" They said they were lying in their tents wondering what poor dad was trying to keep his son quiet so as not to disturb the other campers. They felt bad for whoever it was. I said, "yeah that's pretty much how the conversation with Masaru went, 'shoosh, you're gonna wake up the others'"
But that aside and the poor nights sleep, the trip was a success.

New Bed!

So Masaru and Dad made this tent about five days ago and Masaru's been sleeping in it ever since.
He said he'd sleep there from now on and Yuki can have his bed and Takeshi can have the crib where Yuki sleeps right now.
Sounds like a good plan to me.
If we can't find the basinet then I think this is the arrangement that's gonna just have to be.
Wait to take one for the team Masaru!!
Already making sacrifices for his siblings, although between you and I, I don't think this is too much of a sacrifice, I think he really LOVES it and is looking for a long time excuse to be in it.

Happy 8th anniversary to us!

I like how it looks like Masaru's got Takeshi in some kind of wrestling hold here in this picture above.

Masaru's obviously really happy to be holding Takeshi and Yuki's not complying with the pictures at all.
I love this pic of these two. I think Masaru is going to make a wonderful big brother. Looks like Takeshi is either not sure of him or admiring him.
The three amigo's in action.
So Dru thought it'd be fun to get an action shot of me in labour. Nice Dru, nice.
I started having consistent and bad contractions at around 1am on Monday morning. I had a nice hot bath at around 4am. Man that was SO NICE. I suggest it to anyone who's in labour. Loved it.
I had contractions in my front and back. I was pretty sore. It was hard man. You know how you can feel it coming. I'd be like "Oh no"
It was really hard. I admire all the women who have done it naturally. Good for you guys.
My wish came true though and Takeshi got to choose when he was ready to come. He just came out of a different route I guess.
I liked my 'team' of people. My anethesiologist was awesome. Best I've had. On the table was the best I've had out of all three kids too.

The doctor said that my scar looked nice and thick and healthy, so looks like we can have a fourth kid.
Dru got some shots of the birth, but I'll spare you those pictures. They're bloody and all and some people might not like that.
My Doctor was talking about the rodeo and demolition derby with the team and I while he was delivering. It was fun.
Takeshi was really swollen looking but ate straight away. We got him straight away too and have basically had him the whole time.
He was purplish blue for a while and it took him a while to pink up. They took him in to have some oxygen but he didn't really need it.
I love Yuki's face in this shot. Awesome. I put him in the nursury at around 1am last night and told the nurse he needed a burp and tried to get some sleep but she had him back to me in an hour and a half saying he needed a feed. I picked him up and he did this HUGE burp and went straight to sleep. So I just kept him in my room for the night. He did great but with the nurses and CNA's coming in to check you, you don't get much sleep. I can fall asleep in seconds right now!
He's been eating well. He's down to 7 pounds 13 as of the weigh in today. So he's lost a bit, which is normal. He'll plump right up though.
So I've got the usual pains. Nipples, and my scar. Hopefully they'll both go away a soon as possible.
I'm doing pretty well.
Just tired and sore.
My two boys.
They've got a good menu up here and I FINALLY was able to eat something decent tonight for dinner.
I'm not allowed to eat anything substancial until I fart.
So later on this afternoon I farted and then was like "Oh yeah, bring on the food baby"
So guess who's gonna be loving breakfast tomorrow morning................that would be me.
Thanks for all your comments and love guys.
I appreciate it.

Takeshi Llewellyn Nakaya

Takeshi Llewellyn Nakaya, strong family names, what else did you expect-George!
Our children seem to falling into a predictable pattern when it comes to their birthday. Yuki decided to come the day before her scheduled C-section, 5 days beofre her actual due date, and this new boy has followed suit-5 days before his due date. At 8:19 am a healthy baby boy, weighing in at 8 pounds 7 ounces and 21 inches long, was born. (details of the birth to come)
He was swollen pretty bad this morning and I thought that he looked like any other new born (meaning not so cute). But the swelling has gone down and I can proudly say that I think he's cute. But all dad's think their sons are cute. I thought Masaru and Yuki were cute, but after reviewing photos they were your run of the mill newborns.
Everything went well, Melissa is fine, Takeshi is fine, Masaru and Yuki seem fine, we're all fine. He's eating well, pooping well, peeing, sleeping, no dramas, a great son!
For those of you in another country or state the room number at the hospital is 801.408.2443.
PS
Happy Anniversary Melissa, well done!

Sheepish

So yesterday morning I contracted pretty consistently for about 3 hours.  The contractions were anywhere from 1 to 5 mins apart.
So we got the kids up and fed them breakfast then dropped them off at their Uncle Chris' house with all the cuzzies.
I told Masaru "We're gonna have a baby"
He was super excited.
So we get to the hospital and they checked us in and hooked me up to listen to the baby and my contractions started not being so regular.
I started to get a little embarrassed.
We got to hear his cute little heart beat for about 40 mins though, which was awesome, while I answered these questions.
One question I've never been asked before was "Are you suffering from any physical abuse right now"
I was like "Well I'm in labour, I'd consider that physical abuse"
Then I said, while pointing to Dru "Like are you asking me if my husband hits me?"
She said "Yeah"
I thought about answering that he does as a joke, then thought, I better not man, she might believe me, some people don't get my sarcasm.
So I said "No"
She said "Cause I can get a social worker for you"
Now I think about it I wonder if I look like I've had some physical abuse?  I don't think I had any bruises.  Maybe I did.  Who knows.
I said "Well that question took me off guard"
Then we moved on.
Anyway she checked me and I WAS ONLY A ONE.
Man was I feeling silly.
You'd think I'd know when to go into hospital by now, IT'S MY THIRD KID!!
Apparently not though.
My doctor is out of town for the weekend and I REALLY like him.  So it's for the best, I'm sure.
So they sent me home and wished me good luck.
I went back around to Chris' house and he gave me a hard time, which I deserved, and we picked up the kids.
Masaru was like "Where's the baby"
Dru said "He decided not to come"
Well Masaru threw a fit, crying and saying "I wanna see the baby, where's the baby?"
Poor kid.
He finally settled down though.
My orders are to be on the couch with my feet up until this baby comes.
So no going out for me and doing anything.
It's ALL DRU.
He still managed to work on the car today though while I hung out on the couch and drifted in and out of sleep.
I was told to drink a lot of water and just relax.
So I'm doing it.
And it's great.
My contractions are still coming and going, but nothing like this morning.
So we'll see how long this boy and I last.

Yuki at Raging waters

It's 6:30am and I've been contracting pretty consistenly for the last couple of hours. I dunno about you but I never really know if I should make a big deal outt've it or not. If they keep coming this regular though, every 4 mins I think I should go to the hospital. Dru's dropping his parents off the the airport to go to his sisters baby blessing tomorrow. The last thing his mum said to me was "Now don't have this baby while I'm gone"
We'll see.
Anyway here are some pic's of Yuki at raging waters. I didn't mean to have her all matching but it turned out that way with her cute little bow and swim suit.
The good thing about a good camera is it can capture awesome moments, like this one. We've got the same kind of pic's with Masaru and his father.
Oh hang on another contraction.
Alright back.
Anyhoo I think these pictures are really cute of Yuki with her father. She was loving it.

Lost in the trees.

"Are you getting this, Melissa?"
"Yeah, yeah, keep going"

I did her hair up in what looks like a crown type thing. I just wanted it outt've her face.
Here she is stuffing her face LOL True Yuki fashion.

She ate almost a whole packet of these caramel rice chip things. I think that's about all she had for dinner.
She hung out at the two kiddie pools for most of it and we went to the lazy river.
Dad took her to the wave pool where she and Masaru had a blast.
I'm glad we got to do this.
My mate Laura said to me "Take this time to enjoy both your kids before the baby comes"
I really thought about that when she told me and have been enjoying my children so much.
I love these two and am daily happy to have them with me. I LOVE being a stay at home mum with them and wouldn't change it for the world.
Hold on, contraction.
Alright back.
They both get along and play well, for the most part, and are good little mates.
I can't wait for them to meet their new brother.
Funny, it's Dru and I's 8th wedding anniversary on Monday. Who wants to make a bet I'll be in the hospital?

Masaru and Raging waters

Dru was suppose to do a Father's and Sons post so I guess that'll be one day soon. I thought I'd post about Raging waters that we went to on Tuesday.
Masaru had a great time, as you can see, and it was so nice to have Dru there to help out since I'm a walking blimp. Honestly I'm so slow these days and have just started contracting yesterday and so aren't going to be doing much this next week.
I think these first four pictures are awesome shots of Masaru going off of the rope. I LOVE them. I'm so glad we got them. My favourite is the one underneath here of him doing a perfect pike into the water. I love the pointed toes. Maybe he needs to be a gymnast! Maybe when we've got more money!!
He's doing so well with his swimming but I still forced him to wear his life jacket the whole time. I just get scared without it. He's still only 4 years old. Even if he's a big 4.
We went with all the cuzzies here in Utah and had a blast. I'm really glad that they all get along so well. It's not something I had growing up too much. But I think Masaru and his cousins are all best mates and get along like siblings a lot of the time. I love it and think it's how family SHOULD be. It's the same with his cousins in NZ and I think it's wonderful

He went on about half the slides. Others were still a little too rough for him, plus he couldn't go down with Dru. He had to go down by himself. So that kinda changes things.
This is one of the slides they could go down together though and loved it.
I love their faces in these shots of them going down the slide. So fun.
Masaru wanted to go down this slide when we were looking at it from the ground but then got up there and changed his mind.
At the bottom of the slide it has about a 9ft drop into the water and I don't think he was too sure about that. I told him "You're gonna be under the water for a while cause it's a big drop" He thought he'd be ok with it until he got up there.
So here are father and son walking away from the scary slide. I LOVE these two pic's as well. What a great shot of Dru and Masaru walking hand in hand.
I love these two boys in my life!
It was a fun day and I'm glad we all went.
Thanks Grandma and Popa!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh British Comedy

Anyone who gets into British programmes will know that the British humour is much different from the american.
Both are funny, but both are so different.
Love it.
Here is a little british comedy that had me laughing out loud.
So I thought I'd share.

Craaaaaaaaaaaaazy

These pic's were taken by Dru's bro.

Nothing like a little static + fine hair, to make a fun picture.

Side note: Her PJ's say "I found my prince, his name is daddy"
Man how true is that!
